  • Database changes for Fishing and Foraging

    Hey guys,

We've made a decision to change the way we track foraged and fished items in game. We've decided to track all the multizone foraged and fished items individually by zone. AKA we're going to list all of those items under every zone that you can find them in instead of under the multiple zones listing like we do now.

For foraging these items include (but are not limited to):
    ancient tarnished coin
    berries
    feather
    fishing grubs
    fruit
    glob of slush water
    mushroom
    pod of water
    rabbit meat
    roots
    small chunk of velium
    vegetables

    For fishing these items include:
    fresh fish
    rusty dagger
    tattered cloth sandal

Basically any foraged or fished item that you find in a zone that isn't specifically listed as being able to be foraged or fished about in that zone we'd like to know about. If you're going to post about items not on this list I'd request for you to please do me the favor of checking to make sure that the information isn't in the database already prior to posting. In order to make this database change happen, we need help from the community in verifying where these items can be found and through which skills. So if people could start keeping track of that information and getting it to us to enter into the database it would be very much appreciated.

Please post, if possible, in the database update submissions forum and start a new thread for each post. This makes it easier for the data entry folks to get it into the database quickly and with less error. Thank you very much for your help in contributing to the EQTC database.

    Tudani?
I was updating my forage/use tables (personal cheat sheet type thing) And from the Forages by zone page I noticed that:
    Ikkinz
    Inktu’ta
    Kod’Taz
    Qvic
    Sewers of Nihilia
    Tacvi
    Txevu
    Vxed
have nothing listed as forages. are these forages somehow missing? or are there just no forages in those zones? Also Tacvi isn't even listed as a zone on that page.

This list may get updates as I work my way through OOW, DON & DODH

In sewers trial in RCoD I noticed you can forage GoD items as well as OOW ones is this intentional?

Hmm, we were missing Tacvi. Added it now.

I'm not a forager and have only (very briefly) visited a couple of those, but would be really extremely surprised if all those GoD zones didn't have any forages. I think it's much more likely nobody ever reported them.

Zaltak - no idea whether it's intentional. You may have to ask that on the SOE boards.

Ikkinz, Inktu’ta, and Tacvi are instanced zones that require a number of flags to enter.

Kod’Taz, Qvic, and Txevu are static zones that require flags.

Sewers of Nihilia (there's actually four zones) and Vxed are instanced zones that are open to anyone.

All are GoD zones. I've seen foragers drop stuff on the ground in most of these, so forages do exist. I suspect it's just that no one thought to report the forages in these zones.

Vxed has the full GoD forage table with the exception of Taelosian Wheat (didnt seem to get any of this).

            I did get
            1-13 lb hynid
            1-15 lb cragbeast

as well as all the other "junk". Moldy Tea Leaves, Twigs and Berries.. blah blah..

Well, my guild is in Txevu and working on Tacvi flagging ATM, so I'll ask my guild druids what they find in all the GoD places we hit and report my findings.

Just please... please tell me you don't care about what is foraged in *shudder* Uqua... *whimpers*

                My guild is in Qvic

I can confirm that Qvic and Inktuta have the same forage items as say Natimbi. I have foraged (from memory) moldy tea leaves, tea leaf oil, handful of twigs, mint, ginseng, dollora pollen, etc.

Hi, I was looking for a list of foragables by zone and this sounds like what i was looking for. I this an ongoing project or am I just blind? Where to I go to find the foragables listed by zone? And the level of foraging required (if there is such a thing? I'm a new druid).

On the main site, click Trade Supplies. Then in the menu click forage.

That will bring up a fairly accurate list by zone of the foraged items in those zones. The items have links that can be followed to find the uses of the items. As far as skill needed, that is not really trackable as far as I can tell. This is as best as I can tell from research I have done and personal experience but I do not know any of the formulas, and I have been max skill for so long I do not remember much of the lower end.

Items are placed into levels on the forage table. When you forage, several skill numbers are factored in and a roll is done to determine which forage table you are in. The higher your skill, the more often you will end up in the higher forage table. Then it does a random choice of an item in that level of the table. I am not sure at what point you really start seeing an item every time.

Iksars or non ranger/druid wood elves might be able to add some insight as to what you can get with a skill of 50 as I believe they get 50 points as an innate skill.

The Accursed Nest looks to be a full forage table, same as other DON zones. I'm foraging all the same crud that you get in the broodlands. Definitely not as limited as listed, unfortunately.
