  • Difference in a smithed symbol vs Tailored symbol

Ive looked through the DoN cultural guide here a couple times, and through the symbols topics, but cant find anyone to say yes or no...

My question, and I believe I already know the answer, but its worth a shot.

The grandmaster symbol of the skeptic I make from smithing, is it the exact same as the grandmaster symbol of the skeptic I make from tailoring...

For example... If i make a Kitty GM chest, must I use a symbol made from tailoring to put into it, or can I use one made from smithing.

by item name, they are the exact same, but is there some hidden flag that doesnt allow it? I am just wondering, and sorry if it was said elsewhere but I didnt find it.

I'd much rather use my 270(+10% = 297) mastery 3 Blacksmithing, than my soon to be 220 tailoring with no mastery to make the symbol if I can.

The result is exactly the same, and yes they are interchangeable. Once made, there's no coding to distinguish the two.

If you are referring to the new Smithing and Tailoring recipe lists for the symbols, the third paragraph in each is:
One more thing: these same symbols can also be made via [Smithing/Tailoring], with recipes that have the same trivials but require slightly different ingredients. You make exactly the same item whether it is smithed or tailored, and can therefore apply it to either smithed or tailored armor. You can choose the method depending on your skills (or the skills of folks who will make them for you) and which ingredients you can more easily obtain).
The DoN Quests page also says, under "Make the Symbol":
Using either the smithed or tailored recipes will create the same symbols. The choice is yours based on how good your skills are and which materials you can obtain.
Is there somewhere else it should be noted, too? It's an important point, but there's lots of important points. So it's hard to make them all sufficiently noticeable.
