Anyone else have an exceptionally good skilling session?

I'm a bit suspicious that this patch might have fixed more than intended - I've been stuck at 191 baking for a bit now so when I logged on after the patch cattle had finished thier stampeed, I went to the SH oven and started cranking out MTPs again.

First stack - 1 skill 4success
Second stack - 1 skill 1 success
Third stack - 0 skill 2 success
Fourth stack - 0 skill 1 success
Fifth stack - 2 skill 1 success
Sixth stack - 0 skill 1 success
Seventh stack - 1 skill 1 success

That's with just a 159 INT and no geerlock - this is not normal skilling for the 190s - especially not for some dumb troll like myself.

So did I just have a great one night stand with the RNG, or did everyone have this kind of success?

I baked a few (I think 16) jord meat pies and got from 225 to 226. I wish I had kept going but I'm out of meat that isn't trivial again.

May have to do the MTP thing...I had been doing Halas Pie and then since PoP have been mixing Halas Pie with the new easier recipes. Happy that Halas Pie is finally trivial though. I think Holy Cake may be next. At least it will be something different!

4 more combines (after the previous 37) got me a skillup to 197 tailoring, 4 more combines later I was at 198.

Then I ran out of Flawless Rockhopper Hides.

I was working on blacksmithing last night, and my skill jumped up about 2/3 of the time, with a str of about 150 (And a geerlock hammer).

It was nice to only have to go though minimal sheet metals (1pp each!) before all of banded was trivial.

Hey, if it was "fixed" lets hope they don't break it again.

Not for me

I went through 40 combines of robes last night with one success and no skillups. This after another 40 with no skill ups the other day. If I didn't want to break 200 so bad I would think it was time for a tailoring vacation.

Probably just good luck. Back in September or so I got 6 skill-ups (195 to 201) on 80 combines of HMPs.

Sounds like me and tailoring the other day with crystalline.

first stack - 10 skillups 15 successes
second stack - 15 skillups 20 successes

Makes me feel lucky still need more crystalline though, need to hit it's trivial for 5th shawl try.

A few days ago I did 96 fine steel combines and got 24 skill-ups 137-161 :shock: After sell back total cost was about 750pp.
2 days later I did 80 combines and got only 10 skill ups to 171. Still good IMHO. After sell back total cost was 25pp all success with not 1 failure :shock:
I'm going to do the last 17 points in fine steel this weekend. I got my Luclinite Hammer and Spirit Anvil already. Just need to get those first 3 humming orbs done to get Humming LH.

i just did 8 combines of gold ornate chain coif, skill was 138, i got 5 skill ups on 8 combines, 1 failure.

would that be considered a good run?

I did 5 combines for blessed full mithril armor 5/5

bracer, cloak, pauldrons, arm, belt

then 6 combines for full mithril armor 5/6

1/2 bracer, bp, legs, arm, boots

I've never seen a good round like this since I started smithing in last April and I've been a 250 GM smith since last May.

I hope they will not break it again if they fixed it. I like how it is.

Me last tailoring binge took me up 30 points in 74 tries, from 101 to 131. i thought it was a very good run, still on the other hand im at 56 tries and counting for smithing skill up #190

1 stack of Vale Reinforced

5 (!!) skill-ups. 192 to 197

Something has changed. Hopefully the two subsequent mini-patches/"maintenance" didn't goof with whatever it was.

At 1AM PST 1/10/03, I did 138 Truffle Combines. 255 WIS (KEIed).

Too many successes to count, skill went from 198 to 201 (I guess I'm a baker until AA ) - so thats 3 skill ups in 138 combines.

If they fixed it for you, I hope they fix it for me.. :roll:

I went from 141 to 171 baking in 200 combines of Patty Melts.. I don't know if it was the day before or the day after the patch though.

Things like time/date fail me in my old age... it was within the past week.

Other than that, I now wish I had done a skill-up session on brewing .
