  • Curious happening

So the other night my wife and me where doing some mass subcombines on trivial reciepes.

Within seconds of each other we both remarked on an abnormal string of failures . I'm talking like 5 of 7 failures inside a minute from both of us. Made me start thinking about how the RNG might be server wide and when it gets in a bad stretch it just kinda sucks for a bit. We're sort of looking to see if this occurs again but wondering if anyone else has seen anything similar?

Personally, I think theres a tradeskill bug out there. I was getting higher than normal failure rates on trivial items this last week. It's supposed to be what, 5% failure on items that are just trivial? I was making metal bits. My skill was in the 30s and the trivial was in the 20s (if I remember correctly). I was getting around 1 in 10 failures. Granted, it was a small number of combines (around 40), but still it's way higher than normal. I found that last week when I was doing combines for Halas Meat Pies. Much higher than normal failures on the filleted meat combines. I bugged it at the time, just in case.

At skill 30, Metal Bits (trivial 18) should have about a 68% success rate. So, you were doing well to only fail 10%.

Just because a recipe is "trivial" to you doesn't mean you have the 95% rate. That is only true from skill 174 on.

The widely accepted success rate formula (which may be off, but seems to be fairly close) is Skill - (3/4)Trivial + 51.5.

      So, 30 - (3/4)18 + 51.5 = 68.
