  • What I would do to the Bazaar

The one thing I HATE about the bazaar is that players stack themselves on top of each other to be near the bank or some other spot.

If I was "The Trade commishiner" for Shadow Haven and in control, I would have the gods at SOE place a tellaporter in the zone that a player had to step onto to become a trader. It would then randomly place the trader on one of the six islands that are for trading and turn on the trader mode. Since there are 6 islands, there should be 100 spots on each island. This way if you don't like your spot you need to leave trader mode and try again. But ALL the spots are spaced so traders are NEVER on top of each other. AND there is room for players to move around while shopping.

Second if in the /bazaar window you right click on a traders name you are ported in front of that trader.

    What do you think?...

If you were the trade commisioner, you would be too busy handing out newbie quests, and manufacturing amulets.

    But it's a good idea.

It would work I think, might be a bit much though. Unless it really starts causing problems, Sony probably won't do anything about it, as the current system is working well enough.

Or they could just send a portal storm through any area that gets too crowded.

I think the coding would be easier to click on a product, have it ask 'Are you sure you want to purchase a Grobb Liquidized meat for 5pp', click yes, and it lets you select quantity. If not a stacked item, it just goes into your inventory, money goes to theirs.

That way you don't need to code any fancy dancy teleporters, and it wouldn't matter where someone sets up shop, stuff just disapears from your inventory if they can find you or not.

              Great idea.

As for people piling up ojn you, I have to agree. A lot of times I set up shop, then some huge orge comes along and stands on me and sets up shop.

The killer? NOONE IS NEAR BY! Hehad all the room to set up but had to on top of me...

Thats why I try to stand as close to the edge now so noone can do that (but I try my hardest not to block others..)

Hark! Who is that, prowling along the fields! It is Draggar De'VIr, hands clutching two hardened pitas! He cries gutterally: "In the name of Thor the Mighty, I hereby void your warranty, and send you back to God!!!"

I like that idea to have spots to stand in instead of anywhere to stand just have pre designed spots that you must occuply. There is plenty of room in all of the islands. When you leave the bank area on Terris-Thule you see a lot of space inbetween traders that can hold spots. I would also like to see you be able to buy from the bazaar window instead of having to run around and find the trader.

On the people who stand on top of you - I two box so have noticed this - you don't necesarily look like you are standing in the exact same spot to everyone. For instance, last night, to my vendor, she definitely looked like she was standing solidly between two support poles on the platform. When my alt walked up to her to hand her some new stuff to sell, she looked to be just in front of the platform, and in front of one of the support poles (ie, shifted forward and to the right). Now, maybe this has to do with using new char models (one comp does, one comp doesn't). But the person who just stood on you may not know it at all, to them it may look like they are standing next to you.
