  • 300 skill level question

Just curious if anyone knows if you have to own the DON expansion to get your tradeskill's above 250?
I don't own the expansion as of yet and didn't want to waste money on skill ups if it was for nothing

    Thanks in advance

Nope, the cap was raised to 300 at the same time DoN was launched, but it wasn't a feature of the expansion, thus you are not required to have DoN to skill up to 300.

I know a wizard who does not have DoN, and has a 270someodd Jewelry Crafting skill level.

Unfortunately it seems that while it's still possible to skillup to 300 in most tradeskills without DoN (alchemy may be one of the few exceptions that I know of that pretty much requires it), having DoN will make skilling up cheaper from what I've seen. But then again, I've not yet tried smithing or tailoring in DoN yet.

With the changes to where things like Pile of Gravel and the old Basilisk tooth drops come from, DoN is a more "velious" like style of skilling up... you are able to gather a fair amount of combines fairly easily. Once you gather the dropped parts the sold parts are far cheaper overall.

Mr. Dev, the comment Wyvernwill made about being able to easily gather multiple combine's worth of post 250 tradeskill materials in DoN does not reflect the opinion of the community as a whole. Actually, we have reason to believe that he was under the heavy influence of some mind-altering substance when he made that post. =D
