Didn't see this posted yet, so...the following is copied from the Artisan's way board:

Hi.

Due to all the other stuff that is going in this next patch and the testing work needed to get it ready, I'm not going to be making any changes on these items until the patch after that.

However, I can tell you that we're working on a plan:

1. Add Pile of Gravel to some gargoyle NPCs in Plane of Nightmare and The Hole (perhaps others).
2. Change the name of Racnar Hide to Raptor Hide and add it to some of the raptors around the world.
2a. They will still drop of the Racnar. They drop very commonly off these beasts, so going to VP will be worth the effort.
2b. They will drop less commonly off the new raptors.
3. Find something other than Basilisk Tooth to use for that recipe. You should probably use them all up before the next patch.

These seem to be the three most serious issues. Please continue to comment here on these matters.

I was trying to think of where raptors are found...tigerapators in WL is all I can remember for sure at the moment. Maybe Trakanon's Teeth? I seem to remember some from the forager/hunter cycle a long time ago. I only hope they don't replace basilisk teeth with liquified earth or something

so they make a drop for lv 55-60s armor in a lv 70 zone that needs a lv 70 raid?? /boggle, should be changed or removed from VP all together to be on line with the other races drops, no other race needs keys for anything... yttrium ore, shissar scales, storm volas hair (dont need key for storms anymore eh? just lv 55+?)

There are raptors in Timorous Deep, frequently used for quadding by wizards and druids. Once Alla's is back up, I'm sure someone will do a search for mobs named "raptor" and report back. =)

I don't know what they're called, but there's raptor-like critters that wander Trakanon's Teeth. Maybe Emerald Jungle too? It'd be good to see those zones getting some new use.

Sounds like there will be plenty to choose from. The question now is "How rare will the drop be outside VP?"

If the difficulty is supposed to match volass hair you can count on it being insanely rare, maybe like Rune of Zephyr rare.

i dont have problems getting Voilas hair, i just ask a monk friend to single pull all the ocean giants in storms...

back to the raptor stuff, key is lv 55+ mob, seems that all master lv stuff drops off 55+ mobs so were are there lv 55+ mobs with the raptor model, if this is not a viable option, they need to change it all together

I think the ones in CT would be fine, but they are just a hair under 55.

Will Rockhoppers be considered raptors, same model. They are all over Luclin.

Rockhoppers don't use the same model. They are similar (bipedal, short-armed lizards), but different models.

And I would say, no, they wouldn't have them.
