Slugworm vs. Trean

Been trying to scour the database to find the common threads between these two items. Slugworm vs. Trean Flies.

What determines whether an aug uses one or the other is it the "Cut", "gem name" or "added effect." I can't seem to find a common strand on any of these, but it may be something obvious that I am missing.

if they have basic stats like STR & INT then they are ____flow stones and use Slugworms.

If they have efects like FT, Regen, or special resists they are ____ite and use trean flies.

Ah, that makes much more sense (unfortunate however, as I assumed Charisma would use the cheaper of the two /gasp)

Typically flow stones are cheaper / more common and use the more expensive / rare slugworm. Then the gem or 'ite' stones are much more expensive / rare and use the common / cheap flies. So that the final aug has 1 common component and 1 rare component.

XXX-flow stones use Slugworms (Skyflow, Fireflow, Mudflow, Stormflow, etc)
XXX-ite/XXX-ine use Treant flies (Tourmaline, Citrine, Kyanite, Howlite, etc)

XXX-ite/XXX-ine use Treant flies (Tourmaline, Citrine, Kyanite, Howlite, etc)

Flow stones are found in more abundance than XXX-ite and XXX-ine stones. To keep things balaced, slugworms are far more rare than trean flies. The result is that it's difficult to complete either augment. LOL.
