  • Question on Coarse Spider Silk

I picked 5 Coarse Spider Silks for 60pp each in bazaar (Go me!) and made swatches out of them. As a Wood Elf, I can't make silk armor, but was hoping I could use them to make the GM Augs regardless since I can use Glossy Drake Hides and Metallic Drake Scales. Is it just because I'm a WE or are they not flagged to be used in GM Augs alltogether?

Tried again with a swatch and a silk in a Deluxe Sewing Kit and a cultural kit, both were DNC'd. =\

When you make a statement like that, please - please write what you have tried to combine, other wise we have no chance in PoHate to help you.
You could have used the wrong incrediants, it was diety specific heck it could be anything.

Coarse Silk Swatch is used in GM silk for Dark Elf, Erudite, Froglok, Gnome, High Elf, Human, Iksar combines.

GM taliored augs only used Glossy Drake Hide as far as I know, if The Coarse Silk Swatch does work, the recipe will be GM Water of (Deity) + GM (Slot) Symbol Pattern + Coarse Silk Swatch. (in any sewing kit)

Grandmaster's Water of Tunare+Coarse Silk Swatch+Grandmaster's Chest Symbol Pattern=DNC in Deluxe Sewing Kit and Fier'dal Fletching Kit.

I think it's rather stupid you can't use a Coarse Silk Swatch for the augs if races like Erudites and Dark Elves can use Glossy Drake Hides for symbols. (This is provided they can use the Swatch for symbols) Time to feedback in hopes this is a bug that'll be fixed soon.

I don't believe it is a bug. I believe Glossy Drake Hide was meant to be the only item used to make GM taloired augments, just as Metallic Drake Scales is the only item used to make the smithing augments. There's no seperate item for chain/plate.

Bad enough to need 2x the drops to make GM silk armor as it is (2 silks per swatch, compared to just 1 drake scale or hide ... x # per recipe).

Glossy Drake Hide would make more sense for tailoring anyways if you think of the augment as a patch like you would sew onto a leather or satin jacket.

Silk seems to be much more common of a drop though. Perhaps it's just me, but I can't seem to get a Drake Scale or Drake Hide in the past two weeks for the life of me.

So are there recipes in the database that need to be fixed? Could anyone list them (preferably in Database Updates)? If they're not all confirmed, but are DNC as they are and suspected to be something else, post that. We should at least get notes added to them.

                    Thanks

                      Asfar as I know no.

There is one "tailoring" recipie for symbols, and one smithing... tailoring is just weird in that it is journeyman - silk, expert - silk, master - silk, grandmaster - "leather", but it is still the correct recipie. The Grandmaster symbol, even though made from "leather" will work on silk or leather (heck, it will even work on plate or chain... once made the smithing recipies and tailoring recipies result in the SAME item in game, even though made from different things)
