  • Questions re. DoN cultural armor

Please forgive me if this has been answered before but I'm really getting frustrated.

Exactly where --->> IN THE GAME <<--- do you find the recipes for making a cultural sewing kit and creating cultural-smithed armor? I've spent several hours (yes, hours) searching for this information with absolutely NO success.

I located the Half-Elven cultural forge in South Qeynos (just a few steps to the SE of the Bard's guild hall) but couldn't find any of the above recipes. Now I know that Absor has given a general recipe for cultural sewing kits that would probably work for this half elf but it just seems to me that I should be able to learn this in-game, not from a message from one of the developers. So if it's there why can't I find it???

Any help (and comments) would be appreciated.

There's a new quest guy in your home town that gives four, oops I mean five, new quests. The rewards for each of those quests is a book. The first book gives the recipes for armor (both smithed and tailored). The other four books give the recipes for crafted augmentations.

I don't know about the recipe for sewing kits. It might have been added to the game by now.

There are also some general knowledge books available from vendors in PoK.

The smithing books can be found on one of the Darkanvil dwarves. The tailoring books can be found on one of the tailoring merchants near the new entrance to the bazaar in PoK.

Not sure if the sewing kit recipe books are in game yet - Absor told us the recipes because the books had been inadvertantly left off of vendors originally, and didn't want tailors to be stuck unable to make their combines for a few weeks until they were able to add the data to a patch.

As a half elf, you can get the book quests from a lady in kelethin or someone in qeynos (FP - my home city, doesnt have a quest giver although you can buy the metal etc. needed there). The kelethin armour book quest involves kiling stuff in CB and unrest, the symbol master and GM quests involve acrylia inner sanctum and thundercrest isle.
Unfortunately, SoE seems to dislike Half-elves immensely, the Racnar hides and Basilisk teeth needed for our master tailoring and smithing are either from keyed/raid zones or not yet in game, so if you were planning to skill up on master armour, I am afraid its not possible atm.

Yes, there are some books in game "On making cultural sewing kits" or somesuch is the name, I noticed them EITHER on the tailoring vendors in PoK OR the ones in Abysmal Sea. At the moment I can't remember which, but I'll take a look and try to confirm name of book and at least one vendor.

The book "Sewing Kits for Everyone" is available for 1cp on vendors Sherin Matrick in PoK, and Tonlyei Lyhin and Garald Samerl in Abysmal Sea. May be elsewhere as well, but definitely on those 3.
