How long does it take for Lucy to get new items?

I ask because I've done some of the new DoN gnome cultural combines for Expert's [location] Symbol of Infestation and none of them are in lucy. I only see the chest location symbol, and I've made the leg, foot, and sleeve symbols, with the leg symbol having been made weeks ago.

They show up in Magelo, what gives? Do items have to be manually submitted to Lucy for inclusion?

For new items to show up in Lucy, you (or whomever) needs to be running their collector so that they will be able to have the data for their database.

In other words, if you were running the lucy data collector, theoretically, once you zone, they should show up in their database (hint hint).

No need to zone - the collector re-scans every 15-20 sec or so if you have it set to scan aggressively - it'll scan your entire inventory+bank when you first run it, after that, it generally remembers what its already scanned, and will pick up on anything new that you loot/create/forage - it doesn't just pick up linked items anymore.

Do you know if there's a character/bot on that we can send links to that will add them to the lucy database?

links dont work anymore - guess they disabled that to stop the bogus links that were getting sent in... you have to personally have the item on you/in bank for it to be submitted now.. hard to get detailed support info about it now that Alla's took it over, no more forums for Lucy that I've found, and Alla's forums have always been dead

I've had some success posting in this forum. It's not especially busy but the admins read it. I've also found the stickies at the top quite helpful.

And having submitted some items myself, I've found that once I create/buy/loot the item, I can immediately search for it (on my other puter) and it's already there. It takes seconds, if that.

Technically, probably not. I believe that it works by "packet sniffing", which is apparently a violation of the EULA. However, having seen the person who created Lucy, as well as the current owner, both chatting away with several devs at a Fan Faire, I don't think they plan to make an issue of it. (I believe Magelo is in full compliance with the EULA, with no packet sniffing involved. That's why Magelo needs updating more often, I think.) I suspect that line in the EULA is there in case someone finds a way to make real trouble through programs like Lucy's item collector.

But then Lucy and Magelo are only reading and displaying information. 3rd party programs which actually alter game play are a whole different story and a great way to get yourself in a heap o' trouble.
