    I used tailoring to make the symbols, as I had spare hides but not spare scales...

    254 tailoring +5%, tailoring mastery 3;

    2/2 GM Chest Symbol
    1/3 GM Legging Symbol

      Updated (with bad run last night /sigh)

      skill 300(345).. smithing mastery 3

      GM Armor 16/19
      - was 4x bp, 3x greaves, 3x arms, 2x bracers, 2x helm, 1x gloves, 1x boots
      - Failed = 1x bp, 1x greaves, 1x arms
      GM augments 4/11,
      - various pieces, from what i remember the 4 successes were 3x bp, 1x greaves

        I was under the impression that not only were the skillup rates going to change, but the actual success formula was going to be altered as well. Was I wrong?

          No.... I did not see them state anywhere success rates were changing, just skillup rates.

              hours before the patch, 237 unmodified, 248 modified, BSM3, salvage 2:
              grandmaster seashine titanium bar (242 trivial) failed 1, made 8

              grandmaster's seashine sleeves (368 trivial), success
              grandmaster's seashine greaves (386 trivial), failure, success

              then at 238, 249 unmodified:
              grandmaster's seashine helm (334 trivial), success

              master's legging symbol of terror (304 trivial), failure, success, success
              master's sleeve symbol of terror (290 trivial), success
              master's seashine greaves (304 trivial), success

                  Another BP fail, this makes me 2 for 11 on BP/Leg armors/augs. This is pure BS, I'm sorry but I refuse to believe this is just "bad luck in the RNG". Smithing is bugged pure and simple at 300 skill.

                  My friend at 208 skill is 2 for 2 (bp and arms), and logged me on to make his symbols. At 345 skill I go 0 for 4. And people wonder why I'm annoyed about the new cultural...

                    i agree, there is more than likely some error in the formula. too bad i probably won't finish the thundercrest symbol quest before they fix it...

                      Unmodded Skill 280, Trophy Equipped 294

                      1 success of 4 on GM BP combines

                      4 successes of 5 on GM Chest (3) and Leg (1) Combines
                      (failure was on a chest aug)

                        3 of 3 BP sucesses.
                        1 of 2 greaves.
                        1 of 1 helms.

                        3 of 6 BP augment succeeded.

                          grandmaster's seashine cuirass (386 trivial):
                          failure, failure, failure

                          then at 243 skill unmodified and NO geerlok:
                          success

                              300 smith BSM2 and throphy (so 315) on GM BP aug 5 straight failures (2 salvaged scales) and a success on 6th try.

                              291 tailor TM3 and throphy (304 I think) doing 2 GM tunics, success both times.

                              Just find it tough to accept that the 300 smithing is not bugged as well. I know BSM3 will make a differance but still 5 straight failures was just wrong
