  • Just an idea to help save space...

    Hail fellow tradeskillers,
I play a Human but a good RL friend of mine plays a Wood Elf Ranger and he wants to do some basic Wood Elf Cultural Fletching and Tailoring. And it came to me that many people with cultural and coldain and plainer kits must be going nuts. I think I thought of a way we and EQ can be happy...
    EX:
Make a Feir'dal Sewing kit. Then in it put 3 Celestial Essence, one Celestial Temper and a coiled Spring and combine, skill check 155 Tailoring. Result: Sealed Feir'dal Sewing kit.
Use the same with a Coldain Sewing kit and/or Plainer Sewing kit.
Once you have 2/3 kits sealed place in a forge with container, lid and hinge mold with one more Celectial Temper and combine, skill check 95. Result: Superior Sewing Kit for Normal kit/Coldain + Plainer. Superior (Race name) Sewing Kit for Normal/Coldain kit + Plainer.
EQ makes it hard and expensive for people to do but people who really want to will get what they want. One kit to rule them all! And in the forge bind them....wait, is that something else?
Anyways, what do you all think? Same deal for the cultural fletching kit.

That is one of the simplest, yet by far the best idea i have read for qiute a while.

Why the hell not, i am fed up with having to buy coldain kit and drop a bag on the floor while doing combines etc.

And how about a Coldain Loom in Thurgadin>???????? WHould that not be too much to ask>>>?????

I better stop before this gets moved to primal scream room, or i start swearing!!!

Very nice idea about combining kits together to make one kit that can do it all. Go post it on the Development board at Everquest.com and maybe they will use it. I too am tired of carrying 3 sewing kits(deluxe, coldian, and planer).

        Hail all,
Happy you liked my idea. I did go to www.EverQuest.com to post it to there boards but I got so lost and confused I think a level one Gnoll could of taken me down! If someone who knows how to do it would please post it to there boards thank you very much. Otherwise it will stay here and we hope it gets seen. Have a good day and may you always find a Rez.

          Here is a link

          http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/everquest/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true

In the developer's corner you see a link to a submission form use that.

Why is there only one thread in the Dev Corner?

It says there are 1433 posts, but when I click on the Dev Corner, I se only the long post by Absor about how the boards were shut down for a while.

            Is that still the case?

EXCELLENT IDEA about combining the kits, by the way

Of course you also have to make them collapsible too.

I don't really see the value in requiring all different kinds of tailoring kits. It's really much more of an annoyance thing than anything else. We have seen many annoyances go away over the years, I'd say just get rid of the culteral specific containers alltogether and let us get on with the game.

With the ability to use PoK to get to any city in a few minutes even the culteral forges are just an annoyance.

Well, I tied it again and just like Lilosh said I can only see one post. I clicked on the add post and such and each time it said I must me part of the community. It said this both before and after I logged in with my station name/password. It welcomed me as logged on but still said I must be a supscriber to post. And in this post Mridule even says
I tried submitting this to the Dev corner but I think the form is broke.
So, maybe I'm not the only one haveing a problem here? Anyways, again happy to see people agree and like my idea, and again I say if you can get on there board feel free to copy my post to them, just please quote me as writing it. Have a good one!

It's been a long time since they took user submissions via the Dev Corner forum.
Visit the Dev Corner page of the website ( http://eqlive.station.sony.com/community/dev_view.jsp ) and look for the "Submit Comment" link. I believe that is the appropriate place to submit out of game feedback now. Or perhaps eqmail@soe.sony.com

And by the way I agree. I hate re buying coldain kits all the time. I personally would really like a loom in there somewhere too.

                      The Development boards

To answer the question about why the development board only has one post...

There was so much chaos and flaming going on in the Dev boards, that they shut down to open posting aspect of them. They way it was supposed to work (and judging by your success at posting there, its not) was that any submitted ideas would be looked at by the development team only and when a decision was made to use something, an announcement was put into the dev board to let people know about it. I've checked there numerous times and have never seen anything posted... so.... I doubt the process is actually in use.

The Dev Corner has been moved to the front page of the EQlive site (Eqlive.station.sont.com). Look for it there, as was said above. The Dev Corner forum on the Everquest boards is now just for Archival purposes.

With that link I was able to finally post my suggestion and the Coldain Loam in Thurg also. Gods know if they will listen to it but they now have it sent to them. Thank you all for your further comments and help on finding me the right place to post. Be safe all.
