for grandmaster symbols you need purescale ore which only drops in DoN missions - 1 per 1 mission when you're lucky.
for grandmaster armor you need metallic drake scale or for tailoring glossy drake hide - both only drop from 38+ crystal missions - i've never had one from the fast ones like "death comes swiftley" they droped in progression group missions from tier 2 onwards - a total of 4 mds and 1 gdh out of 15 missions that my guildmates and me have made.
This missions are mpg level or above - thundercrest is rss level.

i.e. for skillup purposes you better don't rely on grandmasters as you could not rely on bazu armor for instance.

had 4 Metallic drake scales drop in 1 Thundercrest mission.. ( Statue plans ) only have done 4 misions.. and seen 1 scale before this.

I disagree. I'd say the thundercrest missions are much closer to MPG than RSS. All the mobs are lvl 68 and under, except for named which is like MPG. Whereas in The Accused Nest the mobs are all 71+... like RSS. Nest is 5-6% AA a kill, little better than the 5% a kill we get in RSS, similar difficulty.

Things get tough with lvl 71+ mobs as a pally loses most of thier stuns, and we didn't have an enc who could mez when we first went in. But the drop rate is a little better than thundercrest and the exp flies. Oh, lot more mobs summon than in thundercrest.
