I remember a dev posting (several times) that combining the zones would risk putting a significant strain on the servers hosting that zone. I'm guessing when they saw that there were maybe 10 people per server setting up as buyers (a typical high count of buyers on Veeshan, anyway), they realized that maybe it's not as stressful as they had feared. That's just a personal guess, though.

when they merge it might be more hassle since everyone will be buyer then. on Mith Marr i've only seen 6ppl in barter at any given time, only 2 or 3 are buyers. if you could search for both in each zone i'd be happy but the merger might bring the trouble that they were trying to avoid

As long as you can only be a /trader or a /buyer (and not both at once) the total number of listings will be limited somewhat.

People voted with their accounts that they did not want to set up a dedicated buyer. Part of this was because the zone was separate, but part was because people only have so many accounts.

I don't suspect a large increase in the total amount of characters supported, just a re-distribution of some /traders into /buyers.

I don't think the bazaar population will grow past what it was back in the day when you had to jostle for a spot at some hours. I do think the competition for /buy lines is going to go up though!

Well, this just affirms that they do read these boards, and do in fact listen to suggestions when able. Nice to see a quick response. Now if they fix the cultural kits in the next patch as well, I'll be a happy little TS'er.

I actually hope one char can be both a buyer and a trader. On D-ro, bazzar no longer has 500+ traders 20ish hours a day. I think the server could handle the load, and it would be mighty convient.

I'm so excited by this, I can hardly concentrate on work now! I may as well go home and play EQ.

Will that patch be the one when this goes live?
Will /trader and /buyer be allowed on the same mule at the same time?
Why would anyone want buyers and sellers in separate areas since everyone uses find anyway?
Does this mean a direct connection from PoK to Bazaar?
Will Sony actually give some HINT in-game to all the poor souls who cried out, stuck in the floor when they didn't get the patch?

So THAT'S what those dead-end passages in Barter are for! I get the feeling this may have been the way they intended it initially.

What I want to see, more then the two zones combined, is a more advanced interface for /barter! Having to type in the names to see what people are buying? At least just add in an option to browse by trader name. I would use it a lot to look and see what people are buying for what prices, for when I go vedor diving.

Now I can just use a blank search string, but if we get more people setting up, that wont be possible...
