  • Foraging rumors true?

I was wondering if anyone has heard this and can verify it.

There have been rumors, at least on Morden Rasp, that the developers are looking into allowing a forage option.

The option would allow you to choose between edible and non-edible foraging.

Such as you can set the option to randomly forage edible and non-edible items, like it is now, or set an option to forage only edible or only forage non-edible items.

I have heard three different version.

    1. That it will be an option made to those who achieve 200 foraging.

    2. It will be an option for those that choose the nature's bounty aa.

    3. That there will be an aa implemented that will allow you to get these options. Such as Nature's Guidance 0 / 2 AA cost 2. So that the first aa you receive in Nature's Guidance (mind you just making up an aa name here) will allow you to create a hotbutton that will only forage edible items and to have Nature's Guidance 2 will allow you to create a hotkey that will only forage non-edible items.

I've searched the forums at Sony and can't find anything regarding it. I would have thought nothing of it if only one or two people mentioned it but several have and I was hoping if someone could verify it.

(I pray to Karana that it is true!)

Stop right there. Whenever the word rumor is used, you can bet whatever follows is false almost 99% of the time.

Nolrog, no offense, but I was not trying to start or insinuate anything on these boards.

Carrying out the typical ritual of setting up trader for the night, I auctioned that I wanted to purchase misty acorns about the same time two other auctions of WTB Ashweed and Lichenclover appeared.

The discussion in ooc turned from the seemingly decline of foraging tradeskill items to the topic of an implementation in the works that would allow a setting which would somehow allow you to choose between edible and non-edible items to be foraged.

I sent a tell to one of the participants in the ooc conversation and was told that, unlike the other people giving their opinions on what the forage ability would do, there would be a separate AA ability that was being looked into which was similar to the Nature's Bounty AA. I was told that the information was read from the Sony boards and went to check. I could not find anything regarding this with the search function on those boards. (Which, to be honest, did not diminish my hopes that it could be true because I can never find anything with the search function there.)

I posted on these forums wishing to know if it was true due to eqtraders being the foremost website when it comes to new developments or looked upon ideas with regards to Everquest and tradeskilling.

I remember reading a previous post about discussing with the developers about what would be nice changes to tradeskills in the game, such as adding tokens to more containers and more stackable items. An idea of being able to specifically choose an item which had already been foraged was mentioned. I only hoped that the idea was in the works.

By your response I assume that what I heard was false and those of us who thought it to be a great revelation were only being taunted.

A simple, "sorry the information you heard was false", would have sufficed.

I hadn't heard it was true, nor did I hear it was false. I was just giving you the benefit of my experience with every other rumor I've ever heard about this game. I try to squash rumors all the time, because they just lead to confusion, ill will, and people getting annoyed, and almost always turn out to be false. The bottom line on rumors, if you didn't hear them from an official SOE source (and note, I am not an official SOE source) then it's not true.

The OP did the right thing by coming and asking. That is all he did. Trying to find out if there is anything to the rumor or not. Server mergers were a rumor too, and they have now been made official. It all starts as rumor where this game is concerned.
