ok i'm lsot adn confused. i've been looking all over the site about the new armors that can be made. i understand that you gotta do quests, get books, make new materials, and such but i don't understand how you do them nor from where. all i knwo is go to your home city and find a guy and he'll tell you where to go (no peanut gallery jokes)......

can someone pelase tell me what i need to do first so i can start making these things? i'm a 57bst wiht no flags for anything and virtually no money (20k) can i start anywhere in the process or do i ahve to start at journeyman, then expert, master and GM?

You can start anywhere in the progression. It just depends on what you are trying to do and what your skill is. If you are making armor to wear yourself then you'll probably want to do the Master quest, since I believe that's around the level of armor that you can wear at that level. You can use the find command to locate the tradeskill npc in shar vahl, and he'll go through the text you need. You'll have to do the quest that will give you the vah shir pattern book (this is a lowbie quest basically) and then follow it up with the quest for the appropriate symbols (the master quest is the one that sends you to the Grey, the grandmaster quest sends you to stillmoon temple). You can do them in any order you wish, but you'll have to do at least two of them as I mentioned (one will give you a book that will show you how to make varying levels of vah shir armor, and another book will show you how to make symbols for them).

The quests and purchaseable materials you will need are all in Shar Vahl. You will need to quest to get the patterns. The quests are in Shar Vahl as well, and are offered by Vuro (he is 'findable' using the find tool, under smithing as I recall).

The basic armour patterns are not ranked. The same patterns are used for all levels.

The symbol patterns are, however, ranked. Which you should quest for depends not just on your level but also partly on your tailoring skill and the trivials you are willing to risk on combines.

Expert level sends you to dawnshroud where you will fight wolves and stone grabbers, all within your solo capabilities. Expert tunics trivial at 222.

Masters level sends you to the grey. This may be beyond your solo capabilities or may not (remember you will need to keep enduring breath up in the grey!), but trivials top out over 300. I think you have to be 65 just to get the master's quest anyway, so this may be moot.

For tailoring, you will need to make (or purchase in the bazaar) your own sewing kit and needle. Recipies for these are in other threads, but the sewing kits are trivial 162 and needles 132, both smithing.

Tailoring supplies you will need in shar val are in the tailoring building (facing the arena, turn left, go straight ahead into the building you should be facing, then find your way upstairs. Tailoring vendor is on the right near the loom. She is of course 'find-able' too.

Smithing supplies you will need (to make the tailoring kit) are found on Arms Historian Qua. As a loyal Vah Shir, you should know him from the Sonic Wolvesbane quest... he sells the combine kit for the weapon. He is also 'find-able' (in case you are a less than loyal Vah Shir ). The cultural forge is in the smithing building near Barkham.

      Hope that helps
