This is a sweeping generalization, so take it for what it's worth. I'm just talking about the type 11 augments now, not the armor.
I'm working with preliminary information here -- less than 10 percent of augments have even been reported yet, there are lots of different religions. But it's still good to have information when deciding where to farm for drops, or complaining about tradeskill level limits. So... here's how it seems to be.
Grandmaster's augments seem to trivial 80 points higher, and of course use more expensive components.
Grandmaster's adds to each piece 40 hp/mana/end, 3 to each save, and 4-5 to each stat. For instance the Grandmaster's chest symbol gives 105 hp while the Master's chest symbol gives 65 hp.
Master's symbols will probably all give these effects with recommended 60, required 55:
Hands attack 20, regen 2
Feet attack 20, regen 2
Legs mana regen 1, damage shield 1
Chest mana regen 1, damage shield 1
Arms regen 2, damage shield 1
Head regen 2, damage shield 1
Wrist attack 10, mana regen 1
total 60 attack, 8 regen, 4 mana regen, 4 damage shield
Grandmaster's symbols will basically add 1 to each effect (except the mana regen on the wrist). So they would give these effects with recommended 69, required 65:

Feet attack 30, regen 3
