  • Question on DoN High Elf Quest

I read many threads but I am still confused. Maybe some guru can shed some light on this issue.

First of all, I assume that in order to do the DoN tradeskills, you have to do the quest first, right?

Is the a separate quest you must do for each tradeskills? Like Smithing, Tailoring, etc?

I assume you kick off the quest from the quest master from your zone, mine was in Felwithe and I was able to get the information by saying "Felwithe", "changes?" and finally "interested". He said I need to go to Unrest and get Zombie skins and Darkbone Marrow as well as go to Crushbone and get Battlebeads and Rotting Orc Tooth. Any clue how many I need to get and what mobs I need to kill?

I read in several threads that HE quest starts in OOT killing sharks. Am I missing something here?

Is there a place where I can get more information on this quest, like a book or something I can purchase?

    Sorry for such trivial questions.

What you found is the first high elf quest. The easiest one. You need one of each of those four items.

The same guy gives four other quests. Read what he says more carefully... 'interested' isn't the only keyword available.

You do have to do these quests before you can make any of the new recipes. You only do the quests once... then you can do all the new recipes (tailoring, smithing, pottery, etc.)

Thanks for the quick response. So, you only need 1 of each? Doh. I spent an hour just wasting the zone. I was confused because people posted that for HE quest, you have to kill 20 sharks and loot 4 of an item from it and stuff. What is that all about?

There are 1 quest and 4 Tasks! from the Tradeskill quest giver. When you get a task (e.g kill sharks) you will know because the TASK UI appears!

So, I am still confused. On one hand, if you do the "quest" that requires 1 item from 4 mobs in 2 zones by responding "interested" gives you ability to do the tradeskilling but if you do the "task" it gives you the patterns you need to make those items? Do I have that right?

How it works - The Tasks

To get the "Tasks", the keyword for the high elf guy is "Favors" He will tell you Ocean of Tears, Lavastorm Mountains (wrong, he means Lower Guk), Fungus Grove, and Broodwhatever.

The book returned by completing these tasks give you the patterns or molds (Tailoring or Smithing) for the magic Symbol augs. You do NOT need to do these tasks to make the base, un-augmented armor item. My 37 cleric just made 2 Master's Moonglade items. She can't even get the "Expert" level task to LGuk.

The levels on the tasks seem to be:

            Journeyman: 20 or 30
            Expert: 40
            Master: 60
            Grandmaster: 70
