Interesting strat, Ouswald. I'll definitely have to check that out. I have some GoD tradeskill components lying around, I'll need to see what they are used for and see if it's anything I can skill up with.

As for where I get 1.7 mil plat... mostly made the money on speculating on augs and circlet of shadow and other rare items pre-server merger.

Bought CoS for 100k, bought CoS for 135k, sold CoS for 113k + zlandicar heart, sold CoS for 225k. Bought Manastone for 220k, sold manastone for 475k, bought manastone for 300k, bought manastone for 250k (currently have two heh).

Bought various high end OoW augs between 20k and 80k, sold them all for 150k-175k. Bought some flow stones for 20k and resold for 80k. Bought some discordant scoriae for 75k-85k, resold for 175k, 275k, 275k (the 275k were the ones made into black gold inlays). Sold a finished aug for 475k and another finished aug for 450k.

Also farmed the crap out of RCoD back when teh drops there were still worth something, plan to do the same with MPG in the near future.

You get the idea. Buy stuff that you think is way under priced (like the discordant scoriae I found in the bazaar for 1k) and then price it at or slightly below market price. If you know the prices inside and out, and know what gear will be in demand in a month or two vs what's in demand today (guesses mostly) you can make some money.

As an example of what to do NOW.... buy up all the tradeskill items in the bazaar before the DoN expansion and then the items needed to make cultural armor or for skill ups above 250 skill will go up in price due to the new expansion and the new skill caps -- easy money. And better yet, you will have bought the stuff to make the armor for yourself and your friends (of the same race) prior to the price increase.

Went to raise JC, and was moving right along, till I got to velium amethyst necklace 302. I figured, no problem, I have a bunch of amethysts on a mule saved from foraging. Well, went to combining away, inventory got full, went to sell the made necklaces to a merchant and BAM, they sell for less than a plat. Man, this really stinks, they could at least stay in the buy back price range of the old jewelry. Guess I will make the gemed chains.

Not only do the finshed gem chains NOT stack the worked silver chains do not. Need to almost empty for making these for skill-ups. On my server the robes do not sell even on bazaar for the cost of chain.
The new title is Master, up from Expert.

Psst... Don't forget Star Ruby Encrusted Steins. EQTraders is wrong on how much they sell back to merchants, but it only cost me like 50-60k to max pottery to 300.

Oh my goodness, I made so many of these today and destroyed all of them. Oops. Well, only made about 100, and got one skillup, but it felt like a bunch.

And...the "unfired idol" listed on the Quick Trivials list that trivials at 282, isn't a real recipe. :/

Edit: Oops, EQTraders lists the Steins as about 30pp sellback, but really they're about 4gp sellback. I thought you meant that they actually sold back for more, heh.

How come no one's doing Shadowscream for smithing to 267? Does everyone just hate SS?

You can fire them and sell back to npc's for about 30 plat, just under half the cost, according to what it shows on eqtraders.com. However apparently this is the wrong price.

                    >And...the "unfired idol" listed on the Quick Trivials list that trivials at 282, isn't a real recipe. :/

Well... I made 400 combines of this "isn't a real recipe" and recieved 13 skill ups from this "isn't a real recipe"... so... if it's not real.. it seems to work for me just fine *grin*. Also it's only about 27 plat per combine.. so cheaper than doing star ruby steins even if you just throw the unfired idols away afterwards.

Edit: Oops, EQTraders lists the Steins as about 30pp sellback, but really they're about 4gp sellback. I thought you meant that they actually sold back for more, heh.

well if htey sell back for 4gp.. then that's useless. might as well destroy the unfired steins or sell to players. But if they don't sell for anything.. then... don't make them until you are already skill 282, the "unfired idol" made with imbued emeralds is a MUCH cheaper skill up route than these.

                    >How come no one's doing Shadowscream for smithing to 267? Does everyone just hate SS?

I'm not doing it because even though I have about 400 swirling shadows, it's too time-consuming to do the quests that would let me make shadowscream and farm the remaining items for the combines, I'd rather just pay the plat and buy components in bazaar for ogre cultural or make mistletoe cutting sickles for no farming. I want to be 300 smith sooner rather htan later, and I have much better things to farm than green cons.

That's gotta cost a lot for 50 skill ups at what... 2500 plat a peice lol.

Edit: Doesn't sell back at all.

Fletching is the one that's gonna suck I think.

Looks like you got me beat to 2100 easy... I spend too much time offline or raiding, and don't have THAT many combines ready to go LOL.

But maybe I'll beat ya on fletching, who knows.. yeah fletching is gonna be THE SUCK to get to 300.
