  • Stationary Tradeskill Container = Crashes?

After a crash on 2/6/05 on Cazic Thule I logged on and ran around PoK. I saw Lugga the Cook (PC but not found in /who). I hailed her (she was being GM controlled) and she asked in roleplay for 8 unfired pottery items with the promise of a reward. Since I was starting my 200+ trail on potter I happily obliged.

I did some subcombines in my collapsible jewelry kit but every time I used the PoK pottery wheel I would crash shortly after doing 1-2 combines. (Sometimes an EQClient crash, sometimes to server screen.)

    Has anyone experienced similar problems?

I don't know how similar but I was crashing every time I attempted to buy a second item from a vendor. A guildie told me to delete of my UI files folder and let EQ install what it wanted. I'm sad that my pretty UIs are gone but I don't crash now. Might be worth a try? You don't even really have to delete them, just move them out to where its not in the Sony directory.

I am wondering if there was a reported problem with the pottery wheels and that was the reason they popped that dynamic quest person in there. Asking for unfired items would effectively give a mini-stress test on the pottery wheels. (And I, their unwitting pawn hehe.)

PS: Looks like it is limited to Pottery wheels. I did a ton of smithing combines in Thurgadin and it was fine. Tried some pottery combines. One combine (fail), then used same items (you can not combine these items in this container), third attempt (crash).
