Quick question on skillups + mods

Can you still gain skill ups while wearing a gearlock item that takes you to the cap of 252, even though your actual skill may only be 241? Im sorry if this has been asked before, i checked the FAQ and didnt see this answered. Thanks =)

From the FAQ forum, Skill modifying items (Geerlok, etc.):

Q: If I have a Geerlok or other skill enchancing item equipped, making my effective skill higher than an item's trivial, can I still get skill ups?
A: Yes. Skill enhancers do not change your ability to skill up on items that are still above your raw skill value.

It's not on the FAQ for the main site though, which means it needs updating.
