I guess I'll have to go and feedback on the EQ website. I get that message too. I got a better one too, as soon as I log in (ties in with the above issue):

Your XML files are not compatible with current Everquest files, certain windows may not perform correctly. Use "/loadskin Default 1" to load the Everquest default skin.

The only problem with this is that I have NEVER used anything BUT the default skin.

Yup-yup-yup! I got that too, and I have NEVER used anything but the original either.

                  Issues AFTER patch

Might be mis-informed here but I tried the Aid Grimel smithing at a skill of 220, thats 210 plus geerlok. He wont let me clean the breastplate. I know a few days ago a friend did this and got skill ups. Is he broke or is my info wrong?

now if they would "bust" foraging golanda nuts in oow in every single zone (make it just DS) you woulding here a peep out of me, i suspect the tradeskill containers bugs are from a beta patch that filtered over to live thou

It seems to be a system-wide problem. According to some other posts, fishers with skill levels below 200 are still able to catch the less common fish. It's the highly skilled fishers who are having problems. My druid with a skill of 200 can't catch Cobalt Cod in Cobalt Scar lately. SOE is aware of the problem and a fix will be made, but a date wasn't given.

This problem with highly skilled fishers not being able to catch rare fish is interesting. Sometimes I imagine that my lower level characters have better luck farming stuff like spiderling silk or foraging rare items. I wonder if there is code in place to limit the "luck" of higher level characters in some cases?

You need to have an Unmodified skill of 220 (ie no geerlok) to be given the Aid Grimel quest (unless something has changed that I'm not aware of)

                            That was my understanding, too.

I didn't get the XML message when I logged on after the patch last night.

I was able to do some smithing in PoK (LDoN armor) after the patch. Is it just portable containers with the problem?

you need an unmodified skil of 220 to do Aid Grimel.

The poster may be confusing the fact that you can equip a geerlock at 210 to get a modified skill of 220 and get 2 "free" skill ups from 210 to 212 on Ethereal chain joining / Ethereal sheet combines.

edit: fixed my mistake, thanks Sanna for catching it
