  • GoD Armor - Nofail or not Nofail?

My guild beat Uqua last week and we're off to the candyland of Qvic this week! Yeah us! Looking at the drops from Qvic, I discovered all that wonderful GoD quest armor I hadn't bothered to look at before. Luckily I'm all tradeskilled up since doing the Aid Grimel quest, and even have all the helpful AAs for my class (leather). There is plenty of info on the quests, both here and on Allakhazam, except for one very important point where the two sites disagree.

Each armor combine has 3 steps, regarless of class:
    1) Combine a meldstone to make muramite link/padding/sheet/thread (depending on class). High trivials, high minimum skill needed. Result is tradeable so others can do it for you.
    2) Combine the muramite link/padding/sheet/thread with an expensive bought item (10.5kpp) to get infused muramite xxxx. Result is Nodrop.
    3) Combine the right number of infused muramite pieces with reworked muramite xxx and get your armor. Nofail.

Question is on step 2. Eqtraders lists very high trivials for step 2 (for 2 types, with unknown trivials for the other 2). Allakhazam's lists the combines as nofail.

    Which is correct?

I'm fairly certain it is failable. Usually no-fail combines have low (or 0) trivials. I only ever did one combine of the leather however, since my guild doesn't raid the big zones. I did not fail it however.

      1) Require 240+ unmodified skill and is trivial at 335(?) if I remember correctly.

      2) Is no fail. My guild is fully equipped in Muramite, or close to it, and I have combined the meldstones for them. I haven't heard of a single failure yet, and some of them have 0 skill.

Step 2 and 3 are no fail. Step 1 is pretty high, like 280 or higher, and is skill restricted as well (I have 212 smithing and it wouldn't let me combine the rings).

Its 285ish on the first combine(can confirm at night but I think its on the site somewhere) and the next two are no fail.

Also its 240 modified skill not raw. I do the smithing part all the time with 235 + 15% hammer. Did tailoring short of 240 also.

I've updated the four infused muramite xxx recipes to be no fail and noted the quest writeups accordingly.

While we're at it, can anyone verify that the infused muramite chain and thread can be combined outside of Abysmal? There appears to be some confusion on that point.

I can confirm any of the meldstone combines can be made anywhere.

As for the second combine (10k Item + First step result) I am not sure.

Third and final combine can be done anywhere.

Yes I'm a Enchanter and after I turned in the armor piece to the person and bought the item from the gnome i left abysmal and went to pok, and did the combine in a deluxe sewing kit.
