n00b jeweller needs help

I am in need of dire help... I have a lvl 4 chanter with a skill of 148 in JC, and I can't make an enchanted electrum jade bracelet. I went and got the electrum enchanted by a kind chanter, went to combine it with the jade in my jewellers kit, and <whammo> nothing, zippo, zilch.... the electrum isnt highlighted at all, it comes in as unavailable red instead of available green. I cant figure out why this is the case...do i need to find a recipe? HELPPPPP!!

I have searched through the threads and can find nothing, I feel like such a n00b!! But I have been bitten by the tradeskill bug

As far as we know, the red means the items it is looking for is not in your inventory...

I would be sure it is in your inventory and you did not acidentally put it in the bank.

if that is not the case, try doing a manual combine one more time, to be sure the recipe is correct, maybe you are doing the one with non-enchanted electrum (which is not in your inventory if you got enchanted electrum)? As far as the interface is concenred using normal electrum and enchanted electrum are two DIFFERENT recipes... you ahve to be sure you are using the correct recipe (assuming you have "learned" the enchanted version.)

I have just checked, I don't have the enchanted version yet in my recipes... Where do I learn the "enchanted" version of teh recipe?

You have to go to experimental mode and do one successful combine of the recipie, then you 'learn it'. Disclaimer: not all recipies are learnable but most are and that one should be.

Thank you so much for your help... as usual, it is very simple if someone takes the time to show you and help, but i couldn't figure it out at all.
