  • Wis/Int of 355

I just noticed that there is a planar ability that allows wis/int casters to gain 10 wis per point. Add to that the planar power abilities and the regular +5 wis stat cap per level, and you can end up with a wis of 355.

My question - does this matter? Or is 255 still the "working" max for tradeskilling. Has anyone seen any huge skill up improvements with a wis of 355?

    Hmm...

If your in a guild that can get you enough AA's and enough gear to have 355 int....

    What are you doing Tradeskilling?

Shouldn't you be in VT or a Tier 4 zone Everlewting?

    Kidding aside...

I saw this asked a couple times on the old board, at that point no one seemed to have any data either way.

People like Khoren that can afford to get that kind of Int are already maxxed in all skills, so they can't provide much skill up data.

It would be interesting to see if anyone has more info now though.

Part of the reason I asked is I'm doing some bank cleaning, and I figured out the max wis I can get with my wis suit is now 291. Well, I am currently stat capped at 260, but was wondering whether it was worthwhile to hold on to this gear and work towards getting my stats raised so I can use all 291 wis, or whether I should sell off a piece of gear or two.

Guess that question depends on you.

How soon do you think you'll have the possibility of raising that cap?

Do you think you can replace the stuff then?

Do you have room for it?

I try to stockpile only what I can see myself using in the near future... had to destroy a lot of no drop and quest stuff to make room for Tradeskills, hehe.

        Just say NO to mules.

I just went from 200 Baking to 250 on MTPs with about 30 or so combines per skillup with 255 INT. Another person in the Baking forum mentioned going from the 190s to 250 on MTPs with just about 30 or so combines per skillup with > 300 INT. If the skillup scale were truly linear as it appears to be before 255 INT then it should have taken noticeably fewer combines. While this one test doesn't neccessarily mean that 355 INT doesn't help, so far people have been actually asking the other question: Does INT higher than 255 actually hurt instead of help.

As far as I can tell int over 255 does absolutely nothing. At 320ish int I get the same or worse combines per skillup rates than reported rates on the forums.

            For example
191-250 baking was 1752 combines (MTP)
200-246 pottery was 1440 combines so far (Unfired planar/opal steins/star ruby steins)

            These don't seem particularly faster.

              Skillups

I have Wis 330 and have the ability to get it to 355 once more AA points come my way.... I have noticed a few things.

Improved WIS doesn't seem to help the skill-ups but does have an affect on success of combines with trivials above 250.

When I was at Wis 255 haversacks were about 60 Percent success rate. Since I have been above 300, I'm 100 percent over about 15 attempts.

              Strange.. or I'm just lucky.

well as a monk, its difficult to get my wis high, but i've managed pretty well. With Voice of Quellious (c5) i have 269 wis (this includes wis stat food/drink). I recently found that bards with epic can boost you up to 305 (I'm a melee, cant go beyond that).

Now with my 269 wis and tailoring i've averaged a skillup every 20-25 attempts between 185-194.

With 305 wis (bard singing in group), i've recently gotten 8 skillups in 91 attempts (194-202).

I know its not a big pool of data but might be a little indicitive that stats do effect skillup chances beyond 255.

Started with a Tailoring skill of 177. With Geerlok and KEI my wisdom was at 346. Out of 104 Superb Rockhopper hides I had 11 skill ups.

Now whether or not that is significant or perhaps because Rockhoppers are closer to my skill level vs. say if I were to be doing Wyvern, I cannot say.

Maybe we could get some more insight if another person with high Int/Wis could report failures like Craftah mentioned.

                  EDIT: Fixed Math
