  • Tradeskill Title ?

    Greetings!

I was passing through the Pok this evening and noticed the Title
"Apprentice Artisan". Sent a tell to the player (wondering if it was an AA thing) but she said it was related to all her tradeskills being over 100. So is it true? Is there finally a Title for having all Tradeskills mastered? If so and then I must go work on my !!!!! (the danger of smilies!!)

There actually is a title for all tradeskills now and it's even buggy at the moment and can be used by people who haven't purchased OoW yet. Expect that to change with the next patch as it's already in the works.

The OOW expansion gave us the ability to select custom titles. For tradeskillers, we get a title for each of the trades (even the restricted ones) based on the following skill levels:

      100+ Apprentice XXXX
      200+ Journeyman XXXX
      250 Expert XXXX

The skills that cap at 200 (research, tinkering) only allow you to get to Journeyman. If you have all 7 GENERAL tradeskills above those levels, you can become an Apprentice Artisan, Journeyman Artisan and Expert Artisan.

Sorry. I don't tinker (yet, wizzy is still too low), so I didn't know (but I like the spanking. You don't have to stop that. )

Why don't they have "Expert" titles for Fishing, Research, etc.? Has anyone ever asked?

Those skills you mentioned only go to 200...

Expert is reserved for tradeskills that go to 250.

I'm still very proud of my 200 alchemy & fishing.... would like some recognition for it... A few days ago someone was referred to me for some oow aug combines. They asked (wisely) for me to put up my title so they could confirm my status. I did & they said "no thanks, I think i'll try to find an expert alchemist". I didn't really feel like explaining it again, so I told them "good luck!"

Maybe having 200 skill & the gm trophy could make the "expert" title available? Would make sense for the 200 capped skills. Of course that would mean adding a couple more trophies but I like the idea.

What are the requirements for getting a Tradeskill Title???

I am level 55 with 250 in Brewing w/o The Grandmaster Corker, 252 with....
and I have NO titles of any kind available...

Do they kick in at level 60?
Only if you have OoW (I don't)? If so, why should this matter?

                  What are the criteria???

You have to have the OoW expansion to have access to more than a few basic titles. That was one of the features of the expansion.

Well done in my view. Being able to politely walk away from fools is a double pleasure in life. Is equally silly to reject a 240 to to 249 artisan when they are holding a trophy. OTOH, at least this means work for those that are 250. Assuming we worn out mad people want more work *grin*.

Trophy means nothing. I did my tailoring one at 221 skill(made on first shot). I have heard folks doing theirs a lot earlier then that also, so having a trophy doesn't prove skill level. A 240 + geerlock maxes out skill (252).

The difference/problem is there is no PROOF that you have a maxed out skill without the EXPERT title. The person has to take your word for it that you are maxed. Maybe they can put in the inspect box a list of trade skills and your skill level so folks can see it.

Then they would also have to show all or at least some of a characters AA's. How else you going to prove any of those mastery's or salvage capabilities.

why not make salvage/mastery work like combines in groups? tell the group the person made or failed the item. works when i hunt with rangers making arrows

Specifically, I was referring to my alchemy title dilemma. Skill 200 (maxed), shows up as "Journeyman Alchemist". The case I mentioned above resolved itself. The PC in question contacted me a few days later, hat in hand, & paid me for some combines. I had a good time with them, "couldn't find that expert alchemist huh?"...

Verifying aa's & other skills that are sub-250? I dunno. My magelo is public, they could look up my skills & aa's if they want I suppose. Magelos can be faked, but any person still suspicious enough to make it an issue at that point, well I can do without their patronage.

About the only addition I'd like to see is salvage being made a group message. Not a big priority, but eliminates one potential scam. (Hypothetical anyway)
