And this only has 4 slots...for high end brewers (I'm at 248 to lazy to get those last two points until recently) This isn't enough slots for Grobb's or QAT's, Aldo's Bitter ale, Bee beer, Stonewood ale, or many others. 4 slots IS enough for the ice cream drinks (shakes & Floats) but until gelidran hides and tentacles drop in greater abundance (haha) basically it's worthless. Can it be turned in for a bag token so at least it's not taking up space? NOoo.. it's NODROP.

I don't think he's referring to the quest conainer from Aid Grimel. That has been in game for quite some time now and he stated one has been added, not that one is already in game. Even though we do tend to get the run around on lots of issues, I doubt seriously they'd push a quest container as a portable still.

Plus we had the spells appear on Lucy fairly recently that open a still or unfold one (I can't remember the exact wording on it). That would be another clue that is it something new.

I could, of course, be wrong but I still remain hopeful that this will be a new tinkered item that goes right along with the rest of the set we have now.

There are many regular recipes that work in the Aid Grimel portable brew barrel. Some of the Taelosian Teas, for example. I have been under the impression that all non-quest brewing recipes work in there if they have few enough ingredients. It's spotty in the database because they've only been added to recipes where people mention that it works. At least, I think that's the case. I can't confirm anything about it personally as I don't have one.

As for the spells, I'm as mystified as anyone else. I'd love to see a tinkered portable still; I'd be thrilled! But it doesn't sound like it's planned. And weird spells come and go in Lucy all the time. We can't take that as a guarantee, certainly.

You refer to the portable brew barrel from Aid grimel, but that doesn't fit his original post. He wrote:

"Over the past few weeks, Absor and I have had opportunity and cause to look into a few of the issues you guys have brought up, both here and at Fan Faire, and I'm posting here today to give you guys a rundown of all of the wonderful things you guys can expect to see in the future..."

Since the portable brew barrel already exists in game, it seems he's referring to some other portable still.

            Spiderling Silk Drops -

The drop rates of these haven't ever changed as far as I can tell, but given the number of new combines that require these as a component, it seems they are due for a little boost. The drop rate of Spiderling Silks has been increased by a good margin across the board.
My druid did a little spiderling silk farming in the Feerrott yesterday. The drop rate does seem to have been increased.

The yield was greater, but still less then the pre-newbie quest armor days. Before the ogre quest armor drops were added to the jungle spiderlings, you had a greater chance of finding two, three, and even four spiderling silks. Yesterday, more jungle spiderlings seemed to dropping at least one spiderling silk, but few of them had more than one spiderling silk since they also had the old drops like eyes and legs as well as the quest drops.

I took the "This is not something that is able to be done at the current time, though a portable Still has been added for the Brewers..." to mean that there are no plans to add a portable, multi-use container, and that he mention of the portable still is only as a reminder, since the lack of the only other non-portable container, a forge, was also mentioned. But I suppose we'll want clarification of that.

The multi use comment was in reference to our request to make stationary containers useable by more than one person at a time. The answer was they can't do it right now.

We won't really know for sure until the patch, unless of course he stops back by to clarify. But I don't think the portable still was a reminder as he stated it had been added and his entire post was about our current issues and things upcoming in the December patch.

Of course we all read it a little differently, we'll just have to watch and see

Gonna take us all a while to absorb the impact of all this. =)

The planar plate armors already require a superb padding. Did you mean something else here?
This is in addition to the original padding. Basically, you're padding the armor as usual, but instead of joining the peices with chain you're joining them with padding (you've worked out a way to make the joints tighter and don't need the chain).

Sweet, so now it takes two superb leather padding instead of a padding and a jointing. Very nice. Thankee for the clarification. =)

Oooh, lemme check various tradeskill containers then..

                          edit:

Just checked forge, brew barrell and toolbox, nothing comes up under 'port', 'brew' or 'barr'.

I do not remember, as it has been some time since I did the Burning Rapier quest with my rogue...but isn't the Blackburrow Cask a portable brew barrel (8 slots)? Does it only make the specific recipe?

                                Tradeskill Trophies -

This isn't something that I'm inclined to do quite yet, though it is something that we might do in the future, perhaps as part of an Aid Grimmel / Shawl style quest.
I'm a huge fan of trade skills and trade skill quests. I've completed the shawl quests and aid grimmel. However, I also liked the idea of getting a super tradeskill trophy for having all skills at 250. The hard part should be skilling up, not another long quest. I thought a dev had posted on this topic in the past saying it was a possibility and something they were looking at. It was kinda discouraging to hear the above response. Getting a unique tittle for it will be nice too, sounds like its in the works for the next patch.
