AUTO INVENTORY option + skill up?

Hopefully a simple question with a simple answer ... but does using the auto inventory option when combining receipies effect your chances to skill up ?

I tried about 50 combines the other night using the auto inventory and saw no skill up. The item I was baking was not trivial and I was practicing it purely for the skill increase.

Maybe just a case of being unlucky but it got me thinking.
Has anybody had a skill increase using the auto inventory?

My baking skill = 196 .. item i was making was 10 lb.Halas pies (= 234 triv. approx.)

I only use auto inventory and never had a problem with it. I've done it at lower levels and gotten 1 skill up every couple clicks and the higher levels where 50 combines without a skillup is hardly worth a sigh. Its just unlucky, hang in there, it'll get better!
