Plane of Fire Strat help

I am working on my aid grimmel and through search of the forum I learned that Fire mephit blood and maybe the obsianwood saps can be grouped or solo'd.

Does anyone have or know of a guide to farming these items?
I only know of the tables camp in Plane of Fire. I have heard of C1 and C2 (the courtyard camps in which one melee's, but am not sure where they actually are)
I know where the coth/safe spot is near where the birds spawn.


The rest of the zone looks to me like one gigantic add death trap to hunt in.
Do you kite these suckers? Do you tank them? Where the heck can this be done safely?

I am a 70 Shadowknight, would want a group, cause I dont have the big dots to solo yet and would rather have the help. That being said, I hate to drag anyone in a zone in which I have no clue of where I am going or what I am doing. Help is hard enough to find as it is.

How does one farm these mephits and spiders? You can't be specific enough.

The best place for the mephits is Mephit Island down"river" from Castle 1. The fire fragment is pretty common, and a decent group of 65s will have no trouble there.

The sap, on the other hand, is quite a bit more rare. They still sell for over 10k on my server, at least. I have found that for a shaman, at least, the best way to farm them solo is to just sit near ZI and pull spiders from the area around it. May take a while, but you'll get 3 eventually. Unfortunately, with failure rates on the combines, you may need multiple sets

With a group, you will get much better exp if you camp the wall in Field 2 near Castle 2 and pull spiders (along with fire lords, horses, etc) and kill. Saps seem to be slightly more common on the higher-level mobs, too.
