DISCLAIMER: I searched the forums and did not see a similar thread anywhere. If one exists, I apologize in advance for posting this, but please refrain from smart-{aleck} comments about "check search first before posting plz!!!1" Come to think of it, that sentence might make a good signature...

I was wondering what decent tradeskill items people have found that are decent tribute? Personally, I use:

Tae Ew Chain Tunic - approx bazaar cost 1300pp for ingredients, 4200 tribute
Nightmare Robe - approx bazaar cost 3200pp for ingredients, 9000 tribute.

I made about 60 tae ew tunics the other night to max out my smithing, and it was a nice boon to max out personal tribute and add a lot to guild tribute. I am just trying to see what other items have a decent return rate with pretty available items =)

EQTraders does not track tribute values for items. These are subject to change at any time by SOE.

I will in fact not refrain from telling you that you should have used search, I seem to have had no trouble coming up with results, take this as a smartaleck comment if you wish, it took me a minute or so of effort.

    /shrug.

Here is a link to my search results, using the 'Advanced Search' option, I searched for the word Tribute, clicked the option to search post titles only, and did the search for All open forums, which resulted in 21 threads including yours (so 20 results, or maybe 19 if you don't count the "What features would you like.." thread) all discussing the same thing and giving examples of tribute items.

Ding! Ding! Thank you for playing, next contestant please!

(ok, now THAT was a smartaleck comment, /giggle)

      Pwn Joo?

Sorry to be negative, but the tone of your disclaimer and your "PWN JOO" avatar pic almost seem to beg for a smart {aleck} remark.

That said, the best stuff for tribute all seems to involve at least one dropped or foraged item. Some people have reported luck with LDoN smithed items, or some cultural items for example.

The best way is to go to Lucy on Allakhazam and start looking at items you can make easily with tradeskills or common drops you come across. Lucy has the tribute vales for all the items so you know what the payoff will be before you make them.

      {Edited by Verdandi - please do not attempt to get around the word filter.}
Post Edit - I'm sorry Verdandi. I was trying to imitate the style he had used in his initial post. You will find a very similar thing there. I didn't even consider the word filter when I did it, was just poking fun at his original post. I'll be more polite in the future, however.

Obne problem you have is, you're paying bazaar cost for components, which is going to eat up any decent ratio items.

For tae ew, good if you hunt ct to get the blood free, the chain leggings are actually better than the tunic.. not by much, but every little bit helps.

I didn't realize the nightmare robes were so high.. the rest of the set is under 2k each.. but they sell decently in the bazaar for 4k, which can make a significant amount of tae ew legs (if you have the blood)... so you need to weigh the benefit of selling an item with the tribute ratio.

If you forage, one nice item is the gold geode rings (enchanted gold)... 330 trib for a 10 plat bar of gold (assuming enchanting the metal is free).

Lucy does track tribute, which is nice, but also out of date for a while after Sony changes tribute values on items.

As far as the avatar, that was an old joke and I rarely post here, so I forgot it was even on there.

As for the search, I made my preface comment because 1) I did a search and spent a few minutes digging through threads when I realized that this is information that many people might be interested in, and it might be faster for me, as well as everyone else, to make a current post on this, as the old tribute values have changed.

I also made the preface comment because people will take 15 minutes to post about why you need to use the search function when they could have answered the question in 15 seconds. I realize that 1000 duplicate questions at 15 seconds each takes some time to answer. I believe this situation to be somewhat different, as I did not see a readily available answer with the search function.

That being said, I also made some black acrylia weapons for tribute, but they were probably worth more than than they cost if you have to buy the akheva blood.

The reason I take the extra time to do the search and point out the results is to educate people, rather than just spoonfeed information. As you can see I explained HOW I did the search as well as providing the link to the search results themselves. That way, maybe you or others can see where you might not be using the search function to it's full potential, and get better results next time.

I've never seen Lucy become outdated for any items except for extremely rare old things people no longer hunt for. The day after Robes of the Tempest got changed Lucy had the new tribute values already noted.

The last time they changed some of the tribute values for tradeskill stuff, Lucy was out of date on some of them for over a week.. some of them a couple weeks. Life threatning... no... but if you're doing runs specifically for tribute, and you're doing them close after a patch, it's well worth it to check items before doing the entire run. Lucy isn't automatically updated on everythign changed in eq the second patches go live.

Something one of our other smiths mentioned to me this last week... if you're dealing with tae ew things... and have iksar blood (dulaks made it a lot more common), tae ew two handed swords are a nice tribute amount... a better value than the chain pieces, as long as have iksar blood flowing (about 3600 per tae ew blood, while the chain is, at best, 4500 for 2 tae ew bloods).

Well, Lucy doesn't stay out of date for long. . . . .

It all depends on the people submitting it really. I try to check a variety of items in the Bazaar after any patch to help.

And if you run the Lucy item collector, it will update any items you see. So no excuses for outdated info on an item you can see in game! Look at the items that interest you in game and then check Lucy. Easy Peasy.

Back to values, yes I too have found Tskill items with at least 1 dropped or foraged component to be excellent sources. Specifically, I used LdoN armor to go from 188-212 in smithing. About 200k tribute for myself & my guild combined

If you're wealthy, and skilling up Blacksmithing, try Mistletoe Cutting Sickles
about 333pp to make and Tributes for 1321, not bad if you cant find buyers for those 12 - 20 sickles in the bank and are running out of room

Cultural can be odd for tribute. There are a couple of troll cultural combines that are very nice tribute (particularly if I farm the blue diamonds myself) but most of the other troll cultural stuff is hardly worth the effort, even for tribute. LDoN smithing is the same way - pay close attention to which items have higher tribute values, as there seems to be little consistency in the values assigned.

A small bump of support for burns since I'm also interested in this topic. Couple of things, although there were 8 pages of hits on the search option for tribute values none of the threads were comprehensive and many were out of date. Although eqtraders doesn't track tribute values, knowing which items are good tribute is very useful information. I don't know a way of looking up tribute values for thousands of possible items quickly. I'm currently using the gnome cultural robes for tailoring (astral) and the geerlok quills for tinkering because they are low cost per skillup and have quite good tribute returns. I would appreciate any more information, the other thread mentioned the granite and sand greaves as especially good smithing returns... anything else? I would love to see tradeskilled items with high tribute to plat ratios as a sticky
