  • Tribute Value (Merchant or easy make/farm)

I seem to remember reading somewhere (I have used the search feature and can not find it) that the best tradeskilled item to make as far as cost to tribute value was some sort of axe or pick axe or miner's axe.

Can anyone confirm or pass along knowledge. Looking for items that could net me 1pp for 5 tribute or better (all vendor purchased components, not farmed).

    Thanks in advance.

Nerfed a while back, was a forged pick iirc.

They apparently don't want TS'ing to be a viable way to make tribute.

Well, viable and obscene are quite different.

320 tribute for like 2p in materials was a bit over the top.

Sandblasted pants are pretty good... at least if you are a forager (or got lucky on a vendor dive), and have a high smithing skill. 26 plat for padding, 60 plat for metal sheets, and 20 for a mold (plus whatever for the temper) and you get 898 points of trib. It's even worthwhile to buy them off of a vendor.

Probbly screwing myself over with this one..

Fairly limited use.. as erudite tailors aren't common out there..

Robe of the tempest.. used to go for 21k points, now goes for 7.5k points.
          Erudite LoY robe..

Generally cost me about 650pp to make, after buying a rune for 500pp, and bamboo shoots for 50-100 in bazaar.. i never was one to farm

If you have nothing but time best price to tribute ratio is Abysmal fishing. 1.2 plat for bait = just under 2 tons of fish (1750 tribute) takes about 2 1/2 hours of fishing. Only catch is getting 2 tons of fish to the tribute master. No problem for a Druid ,Sow + Lev +Port or 100% weight reduction bags help

Now THAT is interesting Do you break it down into 1 lbs or just tribute it as is?

What is the going rate on tribute, anyway? If I were to use the tribute value of something as a selling point, any idea what customers will be looking for?

Well I believe that 1 tribute = 1 pp so you would want at least a 2:1 ratio to start appealing to people. 3:1 and higher would probably move reasonably quick if you did push the advertising on that fact

Akishka, Turn the catch in as is, don't break them down, You will need at least 3, 10 slot containers to hold the fish and 2, 10 slot containers for the bait, A Brells fishing pole and 200 skill in fishing. Destroy the fish scales, rusty knives, and Kurtin's Keys as you catch them and you should have plenty of room in your packs.

I turned in tuna and crab at the tribute masters, and I found the reward better if you handed it over in one pound chunks instead of the original. Granted, it will take more space that way, but if you're looking to maximize the tribute points gained it might be a good idea.

If youre a forager, do LDONs where the quartz and geodes drop. Combine them via JC with enchanted gold. Very cheap way to make good tribute.

Honestly, if its not 10:1 tributelat, it prolly wont sell, even if you advertise it.

I had a bazaar mule FULL (78 slots) of gold+quartz, and gold+geode rings priced exactly at 10:1 tribute ratio. Never sold more than 1 or 2 at a time, and always to lowbies needing rings with stats.

The fishing thing is funny. you get 1000:1 ratio on your plat if you buy Tuna/crab off of vendors people sold em to, break em down into 1 lb peices and tribute em.
They sell off fo vendors for 1c/pound. Yes, 1 copper per pound. And each pound gives you 1 tribute.. thats 1000:1 ratio.

However, its much faster to kill named in Griegs end for their drops if you want tribute that way, and you earn xp up to 70, and they drop decent plat/cash gems.

If you want to get fishing skill up and make it worthwhile, fish in Cobalt scar.

Not everything has to be the very best use of time / resources to be good This really does sound like a super fun way to spend an afternoon. I could easily see a guild event called 'fishin for tribute' - even newbie guilds could do it as Natimbi shore is usually pretty safe and easy to get to. Just kick back, relax and watch the tribute come in

Oh, excellent idea about buying it off the vendors though!
