    Tradeskill tag on Fading Shadow and Crystallized Shadow items

    Hi there. I'm new to the forums.

    I was farming velium in ToFS today, when I noticed that the Fading Shadow weapons and the Crystallized Shadow weapons now seem to all have the tradeskill tag (ie: this item can be used in tradeskills). I noticed this on the scimitar, rapier, longsword, short sword, claymore, and spear (and possibly others)...does anyone know anything about this? I tried combining them in a smithy in various combinations with Flask of Water, Smithy Hammer, Sharpening Stone, and even by themselves, all to no avail.

    I believe it has to do with this quest to make purified weapons from the ones that drop commonly in TOFS:

    Some items used in quest combines are tradeskill tagged I think.

    Hmmm....okay, that would explain the tradeskill tag on the Crystallized Shadow weapons...but there's nothing in that quest you linked for Faded Shadow Weapons. Couldn't find a quest link for any of the Faded Shadow weapons either.

      Maybe you were confused on the name. It's "FadING Shadow," not "FadED Shadow." You had it right in your first post.

      Here's the critical quote (spelling and name errors are theirs, not mine):

      A Faded Shadow weapon results in the Purified weapon and a Fading Soul Orb. A Cyrstalized Shadow weapon results in the Purified Crystal weapon and a Soul Orb.A Cyrstalized Shadow armor piece results in the Purified Crystal armor piece and a Soul Orb. All combines returns Soulforge Hammer (not verified on failed combines, and was trival at 172 for me and at 147 for a friend).
      So, it looks like Fading Shadow weapons are used to make Purified weapons, i.e., a Fading Shadow Rapier would be used to make a Purified Rapier. Now we just need someone to try all the combines and let us know the trivials.
