Well I have looted almost 5 slugworms so far since OoW came out.....and I sold the first 3 at 500 pp on Inny server cuz I had no clue on their worth and none were up to compare to.
The one you saw was likely mine at 40k which did sell in 3 hours. I have one left (was up this morning before I went to work) and I decided to lower it to 25k.
I have sold 4 Dust of Discords so far at 15k-25k. I lowered this one also out of respect to tradeskillers.
Does it seem I am gouging peeps with my high prices? I know some would say market dictates prices and others that I am the reason why tradeskilling is dying/bad name. Let me explain one thing though......I am the guild banker and these are guild loots. My guild is not a rading guild or uber and I can upgrade peeps for 1k items in the bazaar. Guess what? I upgraded almost 50 items off just these sales for peeps in my guild.
Now on to where they drop. Noble's Causeway seems the best place by far. I have also seen them drop in WoS and RUined City. We have also looted over 25 different types of hides and many bloods. Why NC? My theory is simple....more kills as it is easier to chain pull with little to no deaths ever. So the exp is worse there than other places once past 65 but these loots make it worth it.
Hope this helps some

<edit>My roommate said the 25k Slugworm sold within minutes of me leaving for work this morning
Aaal, I for one don't think you're gouging at all. I wish there were more people like you on prexus. 25K slugworms are a good price. Your equipping guildies with the proceeds is very admirable.
Drop the dust of discord to the teens though. Its drop-rate appears to be almost even with trean flies.
The dust of discord is either really common (relatively speaking), or the people of Tunare won't settle for anything but discordant scoriae. I've had at least 1 (currently 6) dusts of discord up for 5k from the 3rd day of OoW. Not a single sale. I lowered my price to 4500pp for a while (that was the current low at the time), and none sold. I've since bumped it back up to 5k (might as well, since I'd rather keep them than sell them overly cheap).
The market prices seemed to mostly be around 4-4.5k. I don't know if they're actually selling for that or not though ....
well personnally I have seen 4 trean flies drop so far, 0 slugworms, 4 dust of discord, 0 discordant Scoriae...and only 1 augment...
Heck at least make the augments drops more...I would love to make radiant cut stones...no matter what they may be since I have still a ton of the +6 wis augments from LDoN on and could use resists and stuff just as much.
Expedtions in Draniks has dropped several of the Dust of Discord and Trean Flies, WoS were the other drops.
From other people I have talked to...again NC is the place to go for slugworms...I have yet to find people getting more then one discordant scoriae
Feolina on Tunare server like Dunthor...5k=dust of discord doesn't sell here
The market prices seemed to mostly be around 4-4.5k. I don't know if they're actually selling for that or not though ....
Here on Brell Serilis server I just sold two Dusts of Discord for 13,999 on my overnight trader in the Bazaar. I purchased them two days ago in the Bazaar at 6K and 9K, and I haven't seen any others up for sale since.
Have yet to see a Trean Fly for sale, and so far there have been a pair of slugworms for sake for 55K for the last week or so, but no takers so far, apparently.
EQecon is showing extrodinarily low volumes for all three, yielding a really wonky standard deviation. I think mebbe it will be a little while yet before these items start to price more efficiently.
Cleave I, II and III give you a 20%, 40% and 60% chance to crit.
Ferocity I, II and III increase your double attack by 3, 6 and 9%.
I believe they are relatively new additions to the game, so there are far fewer items that have these effects (for example, Ally's has 1 ferocity I item, 0 for ferocity II and 2 for Ferocity III; all Gates), than something like haste, which can be gotten in a bunch of different ways.
Nolrog - the Cleave gives improved chances to crit.. is this for purely melee crit? will this also give Rangers an improved chance to crit with Archery? or is it purely melee damage? i.e. 1 Hand slash etc.
To answer the original question, I think these augs are going to be extremely expensive and valuable.
Hard to make:
To make a great aug, you need multiple rare drops, a JCM3 jewel crafter and another GM tradeskiller.
Very very useful:
The huge benefit of these augs is PORTABILITY. You can drop 300k on that FT3 cleave 3 aug because you know if you upgrade your equipment your aug moves with you.
hard to make + people willing to drop a load for a one-time purchase == high high prices.
Well now I am really glad that I bought 10 Dusts of Discord from a merchant the other day, for about 1pp each LOL... On Stromm, I have only seen slugworms for sale in the bazaar once, and the trader wanted 100kpp. I won't do any combines until I can get my alchemy mastery AA's though.
Really glad to hear that the Augments/Augmentation selection is going into the Bazaar.
Might not be the place to mention it, but could you also perhaps ask the devs to put an "Attuneable" search on there as well? I feel that this item type needs its own category, to further educate people on their one-time-sale nature.
