For some odd reason on A Ro lately Muramite Residue has jumped from the 250-350 pp range to 3000-5000pp range. Is there some secret quest or recipe that uses it? Or are people just wacked?

Nothing that I have found except for making the Muramite needle which in trun is used to make an item required for flag access to ikkinz raids.
Posssible reason for this is maybe one of the new epics requires parts from that area and someone has figured out that there will be an upsurge in the requirement for flag access there and hence the parts need to make the needle.
Personnaly though I'd go with your first thought - people are whacked, and given those prices they should be - round the head with a large cricket bat. -
Needles are still selling about the same as before OoW.
It frustrating as murimite needles are a cheap way to get to 200. Costing a lot less per attempt then reinforced acrylia. Oh well only need 3 more skill ups for 200
