  • Salvage??

"Salvage will no longer return items that would be returned normally."

from the eqnews.txt file I just downloaded from 2 days ago.. don't ask..looong story... anyway I am able to play again, and was all excited about the new OOW aa's.. then I see this..

Does this mean that things that normally are returned on combine, ie spoon etc.. are no longer returned or is this just a bug fix and you get the spoon & something else back now?

Prior to the patch, there was a chance you would get 2 spoons back .. one normally returned, and a salvaged one. It sounds like that was fixed, so that if salvage aa kicks in you will get something back that otherwise would have been lost.

      Duplicate item returns

I'm sure one that really perked their ears up was folks starting a Tailoring run with 2 Gemmed Chains, and ending with 8 or more

::Thwaps forehead:: Good point Aleks! Silly me was almost impressed that Sony fixed something detrimental to players so quickly. I should have known better.

Are you sure it wasn't the peeps starting with 1 firestrand curing agent and coming back with a dozen?

            tsk tsk.

Enough with the bashing. Stop there.

They at least did not make an "emergency patch" to fix it, they left it until a patch with other issues (including ones that hurt the players) went in, so give them a bit of a break.

              No bashing intended

Sorry, think that came out a bit off

Folks at SoE have been responding a lot faster in general to bugs and problems in game, and all their work is greatly appreciated (saw the skies on my 98SE comp for the first time as they're supposed to look - incredible!). This just had a potential to be the Grandpappy of all bot-sploits, and I am very glad it got shut down fast as it did.

ok Auricula's post just reinforced the idea of it being "sarcasm" and a sideways jab so I spoke up
