  • new too traeskills, question on +250 items

I tried a search but couldn't find an answer.
I have noticed that there are a number of high end tradskill items that are listed as having trivials of 300+
If our skill caps at 252, how do you make these items succesfully?
It seems that a 50point differance would give a really bad success rate.
As i said im new to the biz so could someone please explane this to me.
    thanks

Well, you pretty much accept the relatively high chance of failure... which is what makes these items expensive to make -- they often use 2-3 times the ingredients per success.

It's no different from folks who were making high-end gold and all platinum jewelry back when skills capped at 200 (when platinum was the best jewelry you could make, and diamonds were super-rare)... it's just that now, with the trade UI, we know exactly HOW bad our chances are, where before we weren't really sure whether the trivial level was 251 or 500 or somewhere in between.

they have such a high trivial to frustrate the hell out of us. Oh and the "only one trade above 200" rule really makes me mad since I've had brewing at 250 and baking at 200 since level 35.

You can actually have all your skills up to 250 (hence the 1750 club) - you just have to invest 3 AAs for every one past the first.

As for the high trivial, some items deserve to be special, rare. Making them hard to succeed on, in addition to having rare components, accomplishes this. See all the complaint threads about the velium inlaid for what happens when items are super cool with a low trivial.

ah, i thought it might be something like that.

          many thanks for the info

also if u look in the new AAs there are ones that allow you to have a better chance of succesfully making an item. something that you might want to look into.
