  • Power farming no more possible ?

    Hi,

For several month, it seems to me that it is nor more possible to power farm NPC vendor. I mean, when the vendor has more item than what is display in its list, and when you buy an item, then a hidden item don't show up, only an empty slot.
I am from Sebilis server, and I am continuing some tradeskills after a big pause. Can anyone confirm it ?
    Thanks for the help.

They changed this a little while ago. Merchants no longer have that "under the counter" storage area, so you can't farm them. Once the vendor's stock is filled up, anything else sold to him is destroyed.

There was a request to make the vendor stock rotating though, so if you sold him something, the oldest item would get dropped, and not the newest one you just sold him.

There was NO CHANGE to the way vendors stored good sold to them. The only change was that they made all the items *visible* now. Vendors always destroyed those items after they filled up their inventory slots. I accidentally sold a couple of DN weapons during velious when I was selling fine steel to a vendor, and spent like 20kpp buying back stuff off of him to find that the stock held was limited and the weapons had just poofed =P

That was a bad day =D

Thank you for the fast answer.
Sounds great if the oldest goodies goes first Sounds easy to say so, but may have some implementing tricks problems (like oldest in the invetory, oldest no one had bought, oldest no one had sold, etc ...). Can be problematic, but sounds great

          vendor farming

actually they did used to have extra items Abaza.

With the change now they show all the items they have and extra are destroyed.

Nolrog knows his stuff...many of us were vendor farmers before so we know what there actually was (always loved those last few extra slots that they didn't show, though it was limited)

Yeah, it was changed. There used to be 90 slots total, 80 visible. The change made it 80 slots total, 80 visible - ie, they removed the "hidden" slots.

Whenever I'm feeling grouchy about the thought of all the cool tradeskill stuff that goes to the great Merchant in the Sky because people sell it to full vendors, I /feedback that it would be nice if items without a quest, spell or tradeskill purpose (fungus clump, I'm talking to YOU! Purple worms, I'm talking to YOU!) didn't appear in the vendor's list once sold.

I don't buy that 'not possible' nonsense - think of how many things we have now that they told us weren't possible.

Two Poisons on EQTC and a Gukta low-end armor quest on Alla

I thought the response to the merchant inventory bit came at about the time they rephrased that nothing was "impossible", just some things had such a high time investment, or time-to-payoff ratio, that it simply was out of the question to pursue at this point in time.

                  It *seems* simple to me...

Properly tag anything tradeskill or quest related. Filter out anything with a lore or tradeskill tag. Poof the rest.

Job done, let's all go down the pub.
