step one 3 jewelry combines to improve it
step two 15 poison/alchemy combines to improve upon step 1
step three 2 alchemy/poison combines to improve upon step 2
I am very much against "tradeskill crafted augments" having to rely on class specific skills like Alchemy (Shamen) and/or Make Poison (Rogue). Tradeskill crafted augments should only be using the true Tradeskills that are available to all classes. I find it very unreasonable to bottleneck them in favor of one or two classes. Use brewing in place of alchemy/make poison, atleast all classes can participate that way.

I know that the new title choices include titles for each tradeskill, but I never did get my youngling grandmaster baker over to beta. Anyone know if you need to be 51 to get even a tradeskill title?

There actually looks to be two titles for each tradeskill.
My character with 100+ in various ones had Apprentice X available. (Apprentice Baker, etc)
My characters with 200+ had the same title without Apprentice. (Baker, etc)

I didn't have any with less than 100 (except for 0), so I can't say for sure that 100 is the first one, but it seems likely.

While I could have personally wished that augments were spread out over more of the skills, because I like making new things and unfortunately don't have a rogue or shammy, nor any free character slots on my play server, I am happy for Shamans and Rogues...they have not gotten a lot of " Tradeskill Lovin' " in the past, and are overdue for some.

That they receive something that is so desirable is enviable, however, apart from SoW potions, the occasional gate potions, and Mind Melt in the case of Make Poison, Shamans & Rogues have had very little to make that was actually marketable to the general EQ population.

So let’s all bottle up the green-eyed monster {ugh, isn't he a fright} and keep things flame-free, eh?

It may not be popular to anyone but rogues and shaman, but yeas, they had verry small market for their tradeskill, now they finally have something marketable.

Tailors, smiths, and potters also got something marketable in this expansion.

Fletchers got MORE arrows and bows (A new string, bow staff, and arrow shaft that can be used in all standard (not special pop/god) bow recipes.)

Bakers, brewers and tinkers got "fun" stuff (but at least something.

Jewelers got the least really... thought they can make 61 augments... people will really want to then take that augment to a shaman or rogue to get the real deal.

search for polished, brilliant, and radiant for jewelcraft augment recipes.
search for "of minor" to get an idea of the recipes for shaman and rogues. (there is an "unnamed" version of each "of minor" and a "pure" version) of course no STATS are in... but the recipes are there.

There may be some errors in these recipes at this time, but they will be corrected as fast as they are found

Neat seeing the structure this will take. Though I hope all of these products really aren't Stationary Tradeskill Containers - that would make for some ... "interesting" augments

I'm assuming that "Stationary Tradeskill Container" is just the default for one of the item fields, and like the rest of the stats it is not yet set to an appropriate value, and won't be set until people start reporting in item stats. Still kinda funny though.

I'm all giddy at the thought of more tinkered toys. And I'm not upset about alchemy and poison making getting stuff to make. Poison making has been a remarkably useless tradeskills, it had maybe 3 poisons that were quest related you could sell, most of the higher end poisons were no drop and since they were only of use to rogues anyway.. While alchemy has been plagued by more utility items that were better at providing utility than the potions. It's about time both skills got marketable items/service. ****ed glad I built up a friend's alchemy to max skill now though hehe.

Now I'm just wondering, with the augments being capable of being so nice, how rare will the drops needed to make them be?

                      That's a correct assumption Dunthor.

It's got nothing to do with the green eyed monster. It does have to do with fairness. Ok, so alchemy and poison making don't have many marketable items. You know, last I checked, shamans and rogues could do ALL of those other tradeskills too. Yet I can't do theirs. So don't give me the jealousy angle, cause it doesn't fly. Did you tell all those who always complained about enchanters having JC mastery to "stop being jealous"? What drawback do they have because they have extra tradeskills that we can't do? That's right, none.

Bottom line, these augments should be made with tradeskills available to every class, ie. the big seven. PERIOD.

Yes, we would certainly have loved to be able to make augments with any of the other tradeskills in OoW. But we all had it really, really good in all the previous expansions, with all the great stuff available to make, recipes that were FUN, some new skillup paths, many marketable items.

Apart from SoW and gate potions (Kunark era), some illusion potions (Luclin? Era), Mind Melt (Velious) and 2 or 3 poisons for GoD quests, what exactly have Shamans & Rogues gotten in the way of new recipes that would be FUN (and yes also produce marketable items) ? Not a heck of a lot...you can probably count them up on one hand (per skill)...maybe two hands.

As far as the enchanter issue…I don’t have a problem with chanters being able to enchant metals, imbue, make mana vials, that’s part of their job description, my only issue is with JCM3, which I addressed in another thread.

Now, tone the attitude down please, you are getting way too emotional about the subject, I meant no offense with the 'green-eyed monster' quip, but I guess I forgot some smileys, so I'll go stick a couple in there.

Lets all take a few deep breaths, and start over

                          {edit: need to vent? go here}
