Be that as it may, I have to play a little bit of devil's advocate here.

Say 2 people Jones and Smith go to a culinary school, both recieve the same education from it, both have equal abilities.

Now, Jones, Comes from a *RICH* (and I mean FILTHY RICH) family, is able to travel ANYWHERE for top of the line ingredients direct..
Smith on the other hand, will be working for 5 years just to pay off the loans taken out for the education, and is unable to fly direct to sellers for fresh top-of-the-ingredients, so has to pay extra for middleman /shipping /whathaveyou...

Does Smith start whining and complaining about not keeping up with Jones?

Nope, Smith sucks it up and does the best with the best available, or pays the price for what is wanted/needed.
