    LIST OF RECIPES BY ERA

    Original
    Banded Armor
    Leather Armor (Patchwork, Studded, Reinforced)

    Kunark
    Fine Plate
    Ornate Chain (Silver)
    Idols (Wisdom, Protection)
    Wu's Gauntlets
    Forged Weapons
    Silvered Weapons

    Velious
    Wu's Armor
    Cultural Armor / Weapons
    Any recipes requiring Velious pelts/silks

    (Original Post)
I'm currently participating in a guild which is focusing on era-specific skills, abilities, gear, and levels. Part of this means we don't equip anything past Kunark (at this time).

Is there a resource that lists when certain recipes became available or added to the database? Ingredient availability is sadly not always helpful. For example, the ingredients for the original deity idols were available in Kunark but I've head the idols themselves couldn't be made until Velious.

Thanks in advance for any pointers,

    Syuni D'zpecyzczn

This is not tracked in the database, and we do not have any plans (that I know of) to do so.

    You might try Allakhazam's.

Thanks for the reply, Maeve. I understand that EQT doesn't track that data.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my intentions. I'm looking more for a list of recipe books, I guess, by expansion. "When did Gimblestan XIV appear?" sort of things. I couldn't find it on my own, so I posted an open request for assistance here.

The lore sites I've checked (and alas, I don't have a list) have had books and the text of books but not release dates.

(Btw, I once knew someone who called herself MaeveMerry. Last I knew she was headed to Ireland. Any relation? )

Well, it may not be tracked in the database so that you can pull a nice neat comprehensive list, but you will find a place on the main site that is pretty darn close.

If you select “Recipes” from the home page then select a tradeskill, you will find recipes listed by era. That should get you a start. It doesn't seem every skill is set up this way, but the most are.

For what it's worth, there is an article on the history of alchemy. Won't help anyone but the shamans, but it's something. Although I see it needs updating for the LDoN and GoD potions.... Might as well wait till OoW now. There aren't many exact dates but it's as best I could remember.

If you can find the books that are the sources, they'd only be on vendors in their respective eras.. Might be a start.

I'd like to re-start this thread as a place for those who know and/or find it interesting to post when certain recipes became live. I'll start. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll update the post at top.

I'd like to keep the list up to Velious as after Velious, most if not all recipes required items solely available from the related expansion.

                Wu's Gauntlets - Kunark
                Wu's Armor - Velious
Fine Plate - Kunark (2 mos before Velious)
Ornate Chain - (2 mos before Velious)
                Basic Idols - Original
                Deity Idols - Velious
                Golden Deity Idols - Luclin
                Cultural Smithing - Velious
Anything with Celestial Essence - Luclin or later

Forged Weapons and Silvered Weapons weren't in the original game. They didn't get added until sometime between Kunakr & Velious. Just before, or about the same time as fine plate.

I'm pretty sure Wu's gauntlets were pre-Kunark. I think they came in just after fine silk, IIRC. I recall pushing my 'chanter through pottery so I could make poison vials (got there just before they were put on merchants) for viscous mana to make them, and saving every Greater Lightstone I could find, back when they were UBER gear for a monk.

Forged shields may be something to add as well. I'm quite sure they were around before Velious, if not before Kunark.
Forged Buckler, Kite shield, Round Shield, Targ Shield and Tower Shield.
They are on my printout from march 30, 2001 if that helps with your dates at all. The forged weapons are on there as well, as are the silver tipped arrowheads (magical) which were a lovely new addition back then.
For baking (not sure if this is as important to you), but you could only get to aprox 150 with wedding/birthday cakes.
The cultural recipes were in game by may of 2001 as well. (Same time as my Velious expansion notes, so I'm not certain if they were in before or after the original/kunark. My skills weren't high enough back then, and I play a human druid.)
oh! You might try looking for the big 'May 8th Patch' notes, to see what that affected, to help narrow some things down.

The Wu's Gauntlets were in game before March of 2001.

Smithing was also popular for making the toolboxes back then. Don't forget cookie cutters either! *snaps the head off her barbarian cookie*

Original pottery was very popular for making vials as well as the small wisdom and protection dieties. I remember when the wisdom ones sold for 250-500p each, and sand of ro was very sought after. It was of course, also used for making supplies for baking.

Jewelcraft went up to enchanted Platinum as far back as october of 2000. Sapphire, Fire Opal, Star Ruby, Fire Emeralds and Black Pearls were the highest gems back then.

                        try this

Take a look here, all you need are the dates that the expansions were released and you should be able to get what you are looking for.
