WHAT IS A Shiv USED FOR

I was hunting in Dulak with my little 40 berzerker and i came accross this little knife called a shiv. Most times i dont even care but this one says "Can be used in tradeskills", does anyone know what a "Shiv" is used for. Thanks.

I cant find anything saying this is a tradeskill or quest item. Think its just a mistake.

I am not the only one

Well someone posted this question on allakhazam's as welll. Is the switchblade hard to do. I have a friend that is a tinkerer and I dont know wheather to save these or use them as a pet weapon. She is 190's tinkering so if the combine is high, and by the name it sounds like it is, she could use these alot.

Just checked Lucy and at least by their database the tradeskill tag was added on July 17th. Since they drop so often I would expect that to be the SOE side change data as well.

Anyone try the ore reduction on them? Just guessing they are an additional source of an ore. (um, ah, *cough* I think Brodybeard was kidding about the switchblade.)

Probably should have mentioned that the recipie is received through a quest from the famous wig vendor, Ping Fuzzlecut in Freeport. Hail him and ask, "What Billcream?"

He sends you on a quest to gather 2 honeycombs and combine them in a "wax extractor."

On turning in the resulting Billcream, he applies it liberally to your hair, combing it straight back toward the nape of the neck and ending with a quick twist to the forelock for a nice little curl on your forehead. Satisfied that you now "look the part," he gives you the recipie.
