Still need mortar and pestle?

Cleaning out my bank, I found a collapsable mortar and pestle. Now that you can make CE in a mixing bowl, are there any other uses in recipes other than poision making?

I went to buy one the other day to make crushed <insert random stone here>. Found it was a DNC, ditched my collapsible mortar and pestle forever!
