No one is selling spiderling silks in the bazaar on Maelin anymore. did they add an npc vendor of spiderling silks, like the ones in ec for batwings etc?

Nope.
Lots of threads relating to the reduced drop rate. Quick summary - lots of newbie quest items added to drop tables for critters that drop the spiderling silks so the drop rate was reduced AND lots of people use spiderling silk so what is available gets bought very very quickly. Only thing at present is to farm it yourself in one of the high respawn areas - my favorites are the caves in FoB and outside of Gukta.

if you need the silks to make leather padding you make the same thing with shadeling silks and rockhopper hides. you can get a ton of those silks in the pit in sharvahl or in shadeweaver thicket and the hides drop most in marus seru.It doesn't work real well in Everfrost to tell the Magus you want to

I think that the ease of collecting the Shadeling silks and LQ Hopper Hides has also added to the lack of spiderling silks. I think at least some of the spiderling silks were a product of someone farming for themselves and then farming "alittle more" to be able to sell in the bazaar. The knowledge that leather padding could be made with shadeling silks and the hopper hides has really only recently become common knowledge. All that, coupled with the insane amount people were charging for spiderling silks, has led to where we are now, IMHO
