  • Signet being sold on stormhammer for 2Mpp

Yes, that's right. One of the GM's on stormhammer is in the bazaar selling the rights to the Aid Grimel Signet for 2 million PP. The GM is running a NPC named Keilla who doesnt show up on /who at all.

This has got me infuriated beyond belief. All the time and AA's I've put into it is now being sold off to plat dupers for 2M pp.

Just thought you all should know.

Edit: Changed the title of the thread. Griping about Game Masters in the game by accusing them of wrong-doing for profit is not a good way to start your posting carrer here. Especially since your conclusion is based on dubious information. In the future, when you believe there is wrong-doing on someone's part, you should contact SoE, not rabble-rouse here. ~Lothay

I've noticed a bug where someone won't show up on /who, even if I'm staring right at them, but they will show up on /who all. Did you try /who all? A real GM in /anon won't show up on /who all, and (even more telling) won't show up when you /whot them.

Actually, that bug has been around for years. I've known several people who, for some unknown reason, don't show up on /who. Someone I asked about it once (this was a couple years back) said she petitioned about it because it was getting frustrating that she never showed up on her friend's friendlist, but they could never figure out what was causing it.

Guildmate talked with the GM who said that it really was one of them selling it off, supposedly with the intention of getting some of the excess platinum off of the server.

Selling rare items for PP is something that I can't say I oppose... but selling a quest item like one of the signets? That represents 18 AA's spent, GMing every skill, EP access... too much to list.

I'm in tells with the GM who ran the character now. Is that sufficient?

The intention of this post wasn't to rabble-rouse or troll or start a flamewar. I simply thought that what happened wasn't right. I was under the assumption that I had presented sufficient evidence on my behalf, as I was not aware of any bug involving people not showing up on /who. I've never experienced that issue except occasionally when GM's are in the zone.

              NPC's auction message

              GM dialog
              (GM's personal email edited out)

My entire intention behind this is simply to make sure that this doesn't happen again. Nothing more. I've put a year into the signet, and for it to be auctioned off like this is simply insulting, IMO.

It's a matter of pride to me, and I was under the assumption other tradeskillers take pride in their signets as well.

I'm sure nobody objects to the fact that you're offended, or put out, or whatever you happen to feel over this incident. It's just that this isn't the place to start something over it. That would be the SoE official forums on EQLive.

However, I don't think it'd be out of line to feed us a link to a thread you had started there, if you choose to do so.

I have to admit, IF a NODROP or QUEST item were to be sold by a GM, then definitely selling it for the pupose of siphoning some plat out of the economy is probably the best possible reason for doing so.

HOWEVER, this GM really should have chosen another NODROP item. Aid Grimel isn't just a quest. FIRST it takes getting your tradeskills to 220 or above, which is not only expensive but time-consuming. THEN it takes getting your flags. THEN it takes collecting the needed drops. And only then can you do the quest. It's an endeavor of proportions that goes WAY beyond a quest.

The GM in question should really have chosen something like several elemental plate molds, some Time-equivalent weapons/armor drops, or perhaps the Blade of War and the like. High-end NODROP gear, but not gear that takes the sort of concerted effort Aid Grimel does.

Seeing as you have something you see as evidence (can't get the links to resolve) that appears you may have a valid gripe.

Nonetheless, this isn't the place for it. Take it up with Sony, on their board. See Visitor's Corner>"The Rules" - read before posting -- Specifically the expansion on point 12.
... Strikes, stand-ins, walk-outs, sit-ins or whatever you want to call your newest protest against SoE aren't welcome here - remember our bit about SoE-bashing? Posts demanding such protest actions turn rapidly into flame fests and worse. Again, not welcome in the least. The same goes for petitions. Don't waste our bandwidths to rabble-rouse. ...
