adding recipes to favorites?

Is there a known bug or limitation when adding recipes to the favorites list in tradeskill containers? I don't seem to be able to add any recipes once I learn them any more. The recipes will show up if I search for them, but I just can't add them to my favorites list (and I could before).

I didn't see a thread to this effect on these boards, although I would figure that I'd not be the first to notice this if the problem were widespread. Is anyone else having this problem? Have you found a way around it?

Hmm... couple of questions:

(1) How many items currently on your favorites list for that type of container? Since a search is limited in the number of recipes it can return, it would make sense that there may be a similar limit on number of "favorite" recipes.

(2) Are the recipes you're trying to add quest recipes or normal ones? (I don't think this would really be an issue, since I think quest recipes just never get learned, so they wouldn't show up in a search either. However, for completeness, I have to ask.)

(3) When did you have problems vs when were you able to do it? Did anything happen that might have made a change on your end? I was originally going to ask if it was before or after todays patch... but it seems most servers still aren't up, so I guess it was probably before.

I'm not sure how many favorite items I have in each container. Some have many and some have only a few. One possibility I thought about was a cap on the number of favorites across all tradeskill containers (I can imagine the favorites being a single list, and each tradeskill container shows only those it can make).

I tried to add many normal items. Some were middling-level cultural combines (in the cultural forge). Some were middling-level subcombines. Some were high-level PoP items.

Yes, this was all before today's patch.

I'll play around with it some this evening and see if I can come up with any evidence for an upper bound to the number of favorites.

Well if there is a cap, you could find that by removing a few items from your favorites and then attempting to add a new one. Would stink if you couldn't add back the one you removed but at least it would let you know whats up in regards to the cap.

There is a cap on favorite recipes. It's currently 100, which was up from the previous cap of 30 before I had to wipe all the learned recipes (months ago).

100 seems like a lot to me, though if there's enough of an outcry for more, we can put it on that enormous list of "non-critical issues".

Personally, I'd like to see it higher -- maybe 200 or 250? 100 seems like alot... until you start thinking about sub-combines. For Halas Meat Pies alone you need 9 different recipes for your oven/spit, plus 3 in the mixing bowl. (I'm going from memory here, my counts may be a little off, but they're close.) That's assuming you always use the same type of egg for your dough... if not, the total gets even bigger.

That's an extreme example, but still, it takes up a good chunk of a person's recipes. And, if it's total, you've got to start thinking about people with multiple trades... 100 starts seeming like a pretty small number.
