Since the fix has anyone ever got three returned on any of the GoD tradeskill combines? I primarialy work only with GoD materials and i have yet to get more than 2 since they fixed the water flask problem.

Not sure if it is related, but since I started doing the GoD conversions, I noticed something wierd sticking out. I get two success messages, but only one item. At the very least, the code needs to be cleaned up.

Yea this also seems like a bug making a log virtually useless unless GM's would be so kind as to replace the missing ones the text shows

It seems to me, and forgive me if it's obvious or has been stated before, but it seems to me that the problem with the GoD refining is that we have so little idea on what scale the convert rates are supposed to be happening. If it's too big then it may not be worth the combines if you won't do so many of those combines over the course of your career to balance your average yield out to greater than the turn-in yield. Which is not the same thing as the point were you start getting 3 from refining since you have to make up for all the 1s you got previously to build up to a plus in gained components.

What I mean is that ok, for the teas it will probably even out over time because that's something you'll probably keep making since they're not bad drinks. But how long will it be before non-consumable markets become saturated enough that it won't be all that worth it to do your own refining? Even if the total combines to exceed turnin is at 500 refinements then I know I'll get there with teas, no doubt about that, but what are the chances I'll do enough with say nihilite to get to that point? I've been documenting my tinkerer's refining yield history on dark matter, need to find where I put the rest of the stacks, but so far it does seem that the yield progression is high enough that I won't be doing it for any 2nd tier components I have and not for things I don't plan on making a lot of. I don't see the yield coming out in my favor over anything less than 250+ refinements.

Koru unfortuneatly (sp?) youre way off im well into my 1000's of combines and still no 3's thats why i started this thread in hopes somone can prove once and for all whether its even possible I just hope that Maddoc can take our word that at the moment the system is broke but even the logs are incorrect and showing that we get 2 each combine regardless of how many we actually get. And if the system is the same as it was before the changes (refining xp is for refining all and not just the compnents we are breaking down) then it is worth it if youtake the cheap stuff raw nihilite or tea leaves and use those for "skilling up" and once youre consistent at 3 you can then move on to breaking shimmering stuff which would yeild a huge profit.

I have repeatedly asked for some indication of when to expect 1:2 and 1:3 returns, both here and on the EQ live boards. As yet no reply. SoE (Maddoc) have said that they are looking into it and that the returns "may be a little low", but they have also repeatedly said that there is no bug.

Bugged or not atm it is simply not worth the effort to train up and do your own refines. Traveling to AS is now fast and trivial, and will net you many more refined materials.

Ho hum, I hope that SoE's work on re-evaluating this happens fast.

The only advantage of refining your own atm is that you can do it in the bazzar :-P At the cost of hours getting the ability and an unknown amount of refined product.

It's really too bad it's so broken, this was a nice idea in concept. I did some of the quests enabling self conversions, but I'll never waste any of my hard-won materials until I hear of people getting 3:1 at somewhere less than the 500 combine mark.

Dunno if they fixed it in a patch or if I finally got the necassary skill (thinking patch this happened rightafter logging in) Finally got 3 it comes in a stack of 2 then a stack of 1.
