TradeSkill Correspondent

I just wanted to drop by real quick, and let you know what the role of the correspondent is, as seen by SOE. I have been visiting this website since I started my own tradeskilling, and found everyone here to be a great source of information and help to me and everyone else asking questions.

The role of a correspondent will be to help us gather information; unfortunately we may miss posts on each board so these folks will be our extra eyes and bring posts we may have missed to our attention. They will float posts that they feel the community should comment on, and we may also rely on them to start posts to gather information, and to bring posts regarding bugs to our attention. Each correspondent will have access to a correspondent only board to ask questions, have discussions and bring information to our attention.

This will likely be a position that continues to get refined as time goes on, so we can make it as beneficial to the community as possible.

I will be relying on you all to help me out as much as possible, so that issues can be identified, and I can bring them back to the developers and try to get some answers. You might not be happy with all the answers I'm able to get, but I'll bring them back none-the-less.

I took the issues from the Fan Fair post, and copied them over. I think that is a great start, and I hope to be able to get some replies on those issues soon.

Recently I collected a bunch of GoD stuff to make whips to try to skill up. Two things frustrated me (besides the usual 50+ combines per skill up, grrrrrr) that I think are worth bringing up to the devs. One is that there are no suppliers of kiola sap in Abysmal Sea. Had to run an alt all the way back to Freeport to get them made. Correct me if I'm wrong. Please.

The second thing is that the whips I made (was making both types that triv at 231) have zero tribute value. They aren't worth anything really on the re-sale market since there are many better weapons at cheap prices, so why not give them a modest tribute value as a return for our efforts?

I wanted to post this just to make sure everyone understands what the correpondent is...

A correspondent is NOT your representative or spokesperson. The correspondent will not be making decisions for your. They are going to assist in gathering information and making sure that if I miss some vital information about a bug or something broken that it is brought to my attention. Eventually they will have more to do but right now those are the duties of the correspondent. You may not all agree with who was chosen (you can never please everyone!) but give him a chance.
