Well, apparently it wasn't reset, but the facts sure work in our favor on it. I was getting 3 per combine, nearly every time, when it was bugged. Before then, I was getting 3 rarely. Now I have yet to see three and usually just one. If this isn't a reset, then it was at the VERY least a revamp of the system.

UPDATE: I have now done another stack of Taelosian rocks, bringing my total to about 120 combined since the beginning. I just got 5 single rocks in a row, I have yet to get a double combine since the patch

I did about 3 stacks of raw taelosian rcoks before the +1 bum, 2 more stacks during that time, and then no more til yesterday... yesterday I did 2 more stacks, and for the most part I did get 2 back fairly consistantly, I think out of 40 combines I think there were about 5 that only returned 1. so that puts me roughly at 7 stacks of rocks, and the ONLY time I saw returns of 3 was during the bugged time, and I'm still occasionaly getting 1. am saving the few raw discord rocks I have for when I start getting at least a few returns of 3 again.
Raw pale nihilite, I've converted about the same, with similar results.. I did try converting the 4 raw shimmering nihilites I had yesterday, and while I did get 8 back... I could never learn the recipe. So it was all old UI for me. Sent a /bug on this...as it's not a quest recipe but one that we should be able to learn.
aligned ore.. haven't converted any since the +1 bug was *fixed* nor shimmering alligned...have less than 3 stacks total.. so just waiting.
gave my shammy friend like 5 or 6 stacks of raw sludge samples and 1 stack of highland sludge samples... he converted them all, think he was consistantly seeing 2 towards the end, but he wasn't really paying attention since there is no known use for them yet.
chunks of broken stone worker and ancient stone worker are sitting in the bank.. I'll start converting them when I have more room.. atm, I've kinda maxed out on space available unless I buy another account...

Haven't converted the teas since the +1 bug was fixed. Agian, mainly due to being outta room..

Over the course of the last 3 months, I've been buying out most of the bazaar for chunks of taelosian rock for a fletching skillup run. The rocks have been running cheap most of the time, selling between 3 and 25pp each.

Anyways, judging by the 200+ taelosian stones I have banked for the skillup run, I figure I've done at least 150 refinements and, in my last batch, I was still averaging slightly below 1.5.

I am beginning to think Ngreth is closer to being right than anyone else. You'll probably need 400+ refinements to start breaking even over the turn in NPC. For even the most dedicated tradeskillers out there, it would take months to come across that much raw material. By then, the second half of the GoD expansion will be out and the market for refined materials will be drying up.

I am getting multiple success messages on combines, and yet will get only one item, at the most 2. Not every time, but very nearly, I get 3 success messages, and yet only 1 item. Unfortunately, I did not track my total combines, but I am close to or over 200 smithing, and 200 jewelcraft combines

There was no such thing that happened. Your "conversion xp" as you put it, was not touched or modified in any manner. A bug was fixed that was giving you one "free" refined product every time you refined something -- You're now getting the correct amount of refined product back.

The complaint you have is that you feel the amount of conversions you need to do to see an increase in refined product is too harsh, and that's something I've been watching for about a month now. It's something I tend to agree with, though at the moment, I'm still gathering some very specific character data from live servers before I modify that "Conversion Curve" at all.

I will be making some changes to make it a little more friendly for you guys, though the actual intent of the quests won't change. You're still going to have to work through the "get less now in order to get more later" style of the quest -- In other words, you're still going to start out getting 1.5 (on average) refined product back, and wind up getting a solid 3 refined product back at the end (and yes, there will be many return-rates in between (1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3)).

You can say it's working as intended, but without someone knowledgable looking at the database numbers about the number of combines I've completed you can't get anything more than my estimate of what happened. I'd be happy to post my screenshots of the trouble ticket or EMail them to someone.

I can guarantee my combines stopped working completely (eating raw materials with no return) after about 250-300 combines and after unsuccessfully contacting CS (who told me very specifically that everyone should only ever get one item returned) I began working on it "all over again."

I had to go back to the quest person and go through the text all over again. After which, it started working but at a much worse rate than before.
