  • Red Trivial Numbers >= 252

    First, my apologies if this has been covered. I did do some searching for the info, found some, but am still a little foggy.

    The highest skill I can have is 252 w/geerlok.

    What are the red trivial numbers? I missed this somehow, they were not always there, were they? I am feeling rather stupid.

    It relates directly to success rates on combines?

    Thank you for your patience.

    Prior to the new Tradeskill Interface, the only way to determine a Trivial of a Recipe was trial and error, comparing against your current skill level and the messages recieved when successful. And only the actual trivial mattered... any skill modifying items (geerloks/trophies/etc) did not effect the messages produced.

    And given the fact that the highest skill level you can reach is 250... we documented that a recipe was trivial > 250 if a user would never get a "you can no longer advance making this item".

    NOW... with the new Tradeskill UI, we can see when a recipe is learnable, what the actual trivial of the recipe is. At times this is > 250. These recipes we document as exact trivials. And we highlight those as RED when they are > 250 to indicate they will never become trivial.

    Do note, some skills (like Spell Research, Alchemy, etc) have a top skill of 200, and technically any recipe for those with a trivial > 200 should be red also. But there is only so much we want to code up right now.

      ok - got it! Thank you.

      This brings me to another question.

      The skill level shown in the upper right corner of the Tradeskill UI is what?
      I had thought it was my skill level, but it doesn't correspond with it. It skills up faster then I do....I thought it was a bug, bugged it, but never got a reply.

        The skill number that shows up in the top right inclueds any modifiers
        like those given with gearlocks or trophies.To see your base number un-equip the item with the mod on it.
